Povrchová úprava starého dřeva
Gerža, Pavel
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of suitable surface treatment on the surface of degraded wood by atmospheric corrosion for indoor use. In this thesis three types of paint are compared. The paints are nitrocellulose coating, water-borne coating and two-component polyurethane paint. Surface treatments are evaluated for physical and mechanical properties of the surface. The physical and mechanical properties of the degraded surface are compared with the surface of fresh spruce wood prior to the application of paints and after the application of paints. This bachelor thesis also explains the issue of atmospheric degradation of wood and properties of degraded surface.
Povrchová úprava kuchyňských pracovních desek
Endlicherová, Veronika
This bachelor thesis deals with the problematics of kitchen worktops finishing. It evaluates the physico-mechanical, chemical, ecological, utility and visual properties of surface treatment of composite materials, wood-based materials and solid oak and cherry wood used for the manufacture of kitchen worktops. Solid wood samples were finished with a transparent polyurethane coating. In this research, the requirements for the surface finish of kitchen worktops were analysed. These materials are being compared in terms of physico-mechanical properties, as well as utility and appearance characteristics. The materials were subjected to tests in order to verify the resistances to cold liquids, wet heat, dry heat, falling bead, abrasion, scratch, steam, film hardness, surface gloss and color.
Povrchová úprava vybraných druhů exotických dřev

The content of this bachelor thesis is the selection of suitable surface treatments for selected types of tropical woods widely used at the production of musical instruments. Water-based polyurethane lacquer and natural wax-based oil were chosen for the surface treatment. The following wood species were selected as the base material: Sapeli (Meliaceae Entandrophagma cylindricum), Khaya (Khaya ivorensis) and Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp.). The surface finish of the studied specimens was subsequently tested by determining the physical-mechanical and chemical resistance of the finished surfaces. The test specimens were evaluated for surface appearance as well as the degree of damage to finished surfaces after application of selected tests to verify surface finish. These tests should verify not only the physical-mechanical properties of the finished surfaces (adhesion of the coating film to the substrate, surface hardness, degree of gloss, etc.), but also, for example, the chemical resistance (cold liquids). These tests were evaluated according to the relevant technical standards and subsequently the measured data were subjected to statistical analyses.
Vliv přípravy povrchu na kvalitu transparentní povrchové úpravy
Kovařík, Radek
Bachelor thesis deals with the preparation of given surface based on solid wood, agglomerated materials, mainly wood veneer surfaces and their impact on the quality of the surface finish by various types of finishing such as grinding, sanding, brushing, pee-ler finishing, pad scourer finishing, abrasive pad finishing. The aim was to deal with the issue of influence of surface preparation on the properties of surface treatments. Furthermore, the determination of the effect of these processes on the quality of the transparent surface finish with a lacquer finish, a polyurethane finish coat. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to determine the influence of surface preparation on the surface roughness preparatory to final coat. Surface quality was gauged by the SJ-201 roughness gauge. As a representative woody plant was chosen oak, due to its enlargement.
