Vančurová, Andrea ; Hůnová, Iva (advisor) ; Kalíková, Květa (referee)
The aim of this work is to monitor the issue of odorous substances in the Czech Republic. In most cases, the main source of information are studies prepared at the request of the municipal or city authorities. Individual areas affected with this problem, those that I focused on in this work, were selected according to numbers of inducements and complaints from local residents. The introduction of the theoretical part deals with the anatomy of the olfactory system and the reaction of brain perceptions on odour stimulus. Furthermore, I describe the possibilities of measuring odours. Due to low concentrations of odours the least used method is gas chromatography; another option is olfactometry, which is based on the principle of mixing pre-determined concentration of an odorant with neutral gas. In the studies that are the main source of this work, I used the method of questionnaires that are consisted of evaluations of the smell from the locals. Moreover, I also described the procedure of filing in complaints about odours in the neighborhood of residence and its support in the law. The core of the practical part are the complaints of people that were submitted to the Czech Environmental Inspectorate for the years 2006 to 2009. Includes both specific businesses that are repeat complaints and fines of CZK 100...

Jarolímová, Monika ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is examinig whether it is worth it for Prague public transport's passengers to travel without a valid ticket and will address the factors that affect making decisions to buy a ticket. In particular the amount of recourse for a ride without the ticket, the probability of being caught by an inspector, the price of the short-term tickets and the implementation of SMS fare. My research is based on the dates in the time period from August 2005 to April 2012. The theoretical part is based on Crime Economics and on the Tsebelis's game theoretical model. After estimating the model using the ordinary least squares method, it was proved that the probability of being caught by an inspector has a greater impact on the number of free riders than the amount of the fine.
The comparison of productivity of employees in case of using of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation
Pecinová, Kateřina ; Houdek, Petr (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
The thesis is an empirical analysis of the effects of intrinsic, extrinsic and negative motivation on the productivity of operators of erotic lines. In a natural experiment, I influenced the structure and size of incentives of 16 employees, in order to determine the optimal management of human resources in the company TOPIC PRESS. The data were evaluated using a regression model with inclusion of identification strategy diff'in'diff. The results show that the performance of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation significantly reduced the number of SMS messages that operators take per hour of 16.6 % and 16.3 % respectively. On the contrary, negative motivation significantly increased the number of SMS/hour by 18 %, but I suppose only a short-term effectiveness. Influence of motivation on the average number of minutes per hour was not confirmed.
Is it efficient to park in resident zones for short time?
Vokálová, Michaela ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
The Bachelor thesis examines whether it pays to drivers illegally park in residential zones. The work is focused on short-term parking on weekdays in the time interval 8:00 to 18:00 with a focus on Square Barikád in Prague 3. On the basis of their own data gained from 8 streets are calculated probabilities of penalty for illegally parking in residential and orange zones. Next there is calculated the expected loss in the optimistic, average and pessimistic option of penalized amount, which are compared with sure loss from paying parking fee of 40 Crowns per hour. The resulting findings show that the optimistic option and the average option are better for drivers to parking illegally in residential and orange zones and that unauthorized parking in the orange zone appears to be advantageous variant. Data were obtained from our own observations, then as provided by the city police for Prague 3 and from the Transport Department of City District Prague 3.
