Lubrication of plastic gears
Hartl, Petr ; Čermák, Jan (referee) ; Křupka, Jiří (advisor)
The work deals with the process of lubrication of gears from a combination of materials that have significantly different material properties. The experimental measurement is performed on a tribometer in simulated gear contact with a ball-disk configuration. The Chromatic Optical Interferometry method is used to measure the formation of a lubricating film in contact. The purpose of this work is to clarify the process of film thickness formation and compare experimental measurements with predictions, which are valid in Soft EHL regime.
Design of optical microtribometer
Poláček, Tomáš ; Zapletal, Tomáš (referee) ; Šperka, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design an optical microtribometer with the possibility of dynamic measurement of liquid friction in simulated point contact. The device should be designed to allow a microscope to observe the point contact. The work describes the construction of selected devices investigating forces in contacts. Their advantages and disadvantages when used in the given problematics are pointed out. Touch parameters were determined using formulas of Hertz stress. Subsequently, the design of the cantilever on which the ball (one of the contact surfaces) is to be attached has been discussed. Using the cantilever and capacitive position sensors, forces and dynamic contact behavior are subsequently measured. The micrometer head and the designed six-joint mechanism are used to draw the necessary load. The required movement of contact is created by the rotation of the disk provided by the synchronous belt transmission and the synchronous engine. At the end of the work, the dynamic behavior of the device is evaluated, with the frequencies at which the measurement results can be influenced. The parameters of the proposed microtribometer are compared with the parameters of the devices described in the research section.
