Nursing care for elderly people with pneumonia.
BŘÍZOVÁ, Diana
This Bachelor Thesis on Nursing care for the elderly with lung inflammation deals with finding the specifics of treatment in elderly patients with pneumonia. It is widely known that pneumonia is one of the most serious diseases in general. This disease affects the pulmonary alveoli, respiratory bronchioles and pulmonary intestinum. Most lung inflammations are of an infectious origin. The most vulnerable group of people affected by this disease are not only smokers, diabetics, people with impaired immunity but mostly seniors. Today, despite the latest treatment methods, pneumonia is a frequent and high-risk disease. Worldwide, pneumonia takes the third place in causes of death, and the first place in infectious diseases. For this reason, it is important to know all the precautions and the quality nursing care needs the nurse to know all information on this disease (Vyšínová 2012; Musil 2007). The Bachelor Thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with geriatrics, specific changes in old age, pulmonology, pneumonia classification, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment, complications, prevention, and especially nursing. In this section we deal with inhaled therapy, pharmacology, adequate hydration, catering, measuring physiological functions, monitoring pain, relaxation, emptying, respiratory care, hygienic care and communications. The practical part consists of qualitative research method. In this research, we have achieved goals through semi-structured interviews with nurses and seniors. The interviews conducted in a standard pulmonary and internal hospital departments in České Budejovice, are included in our Thesis. In this Thesis we have set four objectives. The first objective: to find out the specifics of nursing care for seniors with pneumonia. The second objective: to determine how nurses perceive nursing care for the elderly with pneumonia. The third objective: to find out how the elderly perceived nursing care. The fourth objective: to determine the level of education of senior citizens before they leave hospital for the home environment. Each objective was determined by a research question. Research question 1: What are the specifics of nursing care for the elderly with pneumonia? Research question 2: What is the perception of nursing care from the perspective of nurses? Research question 3: What is the perception of nursing care from the perspective of seniors? Research question 4: How do we assess education of seniors before they leave hospital for the home environment? The outcome of this work is a methodical procedure of nursing (see Annex 4). This Thesis can be used by students of nursing as well as study materials
Childrenś nursing care with pneumonia
HRUŠKOVÁ, Lenka
Pneumonia still belongs to most frequent and most serious disease of child age. In the Czech Republic, approximately 30,000 children at the age within five years are attacked by pneumonia annually. In total, as many as 100,000 Czechs come down with pneumonia every year. Even today, a certain percentage of children die of pneumonia. The clinical picture of acute pneumonias has changed over the last years. The number of bacterial pneumonias has decreased whereas the number of viral ones has increased. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis contains classification and description of differences of pneumonias occurring in children; the persisting hazardous character of this disease is accentuated and the overview of the nursing care for children suffering from this disease is provided as well. The application part of the research determined 2 goals; on the one hand, to discover what nursing care for children with pneumonia is provided currently and on the other hand, the level of education and knowledge on the part of the parents of the children suffering from this disease in home environment. Based on the foregoing, 3 hypotheses were determined. H1: The nursing care for children with pneumonia focuses on specifics of the respective disease. H2: The parents of the children are educated with respect to nursing care for children with pneumonias in home environment. H3: The parents of the children are well-informed of the prevention against the disease - pneumonia. The data were collected by the method of quantitative research in two hospitals in Prague, namely in FN Motol (teaching hospital) and in Nemocnice Na Bulovce (hospital) on the paediatric wards. The quantitative research was executed by means of questionnaires for the nurses and for the parents of the children hospitalized on the paediatric wards of FN Motol and Nemocnice Na Bulovce. The research set consisted of the hospitalized children at the age of 0 to 19 and their parents. In addition to the nurses working on the paediatric wards of both the hospitals. Collection of data proceeded from January 2012 to March 2012. The research confirmed in practice that the nursing care is provided by the nurses at a relevant level that it is accommodated to the child's age and the ability of the parents to cope with the necessary tasks. Information, education, advice are provided regardless of the mostly short period of hospitalization of the child within sufficient extent. The research focused on the parents of the hospitalized children revealed that with respect to the child's health condition, the parents cooperate readily; they learn to cope with the tasks concerning care for the child in home environment before the child is released to home care. The research revealed that the weak side is the remembering of all the necessary facts. Here the parents would welcome more extensive printed material concerning the disease, home care and more detailed prevention. The results of the thesis can be used for the parents as well as the nursing personnel as the overview of the pneumonia disease in children and the nursing care devoted to such children as this issue is paid less attention in the information sources than in the case of adult patients, and a comprehensive overview containing a guide to care for child with pneumonia has not been published in an integral form yet. The output is the information booklet for the parents of the children with this disease, focused in particular on the care for the child.
Risk Analysis, Prevention And Following Crise Measures During A Possible SARS Desease Importation
TOUSECKÝ, Peter
The topic of my bachelor thesis is {\clqq} The Risk Analysis, Prevention and Subsequent Crisis Precaution within Possible SARS Spreading.`` Nowadays SARS {--}Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome belongs to the possible threat to the population and starting with 12 th March 2003 the term SARS was defined as a risk phenomenon by the World Health Organization (WHO). As a matter of fact, SARS at the time of its beginning and spreading all over the world, didn´t occur in the Czech Republic and has been forgotten. More than ever it is necessary to remind the principal aspect of SARS origin and its potential impact on the inhabitants of the Czech Republic and its neighbouring countries in the case of SARS reccurence in the world. Educational training in a form of the anonymous questionnaire consisting of 80 respondents as well as information processing are the parts of my bachelor thesis. To the topic mentioned above I was motivated, at the time of SARS pandemic in the world, by the work in the Security Corps whose aim was monitoring and eliminating refugees inflow toEurope from the region of developing countries. Research data unambiguously prove that the developing countries were the area of SARS origin and occurence. Especially in 2003 in the land register of Strání Květná, district Uherské Hradiště, national border with Slovakia, the inflow more than 1000 refugees was recognized. But the estimates in this region start from the number of 5000 refugees who used this area of national border of the Czech Republic for illegal transferring to the developed European countries, namely Germany, with the help of passers. At that time the members of Force Corps had to face up to refugees drive although they were not trained and protected from SARS infection. I was interested in the problem of the infection transmission and I concluded that the fear in dealing with refugees in this post was wasted. SARS incubation period was maximum 10 days but the refugees´ transit from the country of origin especially from China to the Czech Republic was examined to the period from 1 to 3 months. The necessity to inform inhabitants of possible SARS transmission to Europe and the Czech Republic afterwords results from the mentioned personal knowledge.
