Motivation to learn foreign languages and the plurilingual repertoire
VOLFOVÁ, Michaela
The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of motivation to learn foreign languages and plurilingual repertoire. The first chapters are focused on basic concepts related to motivation, types of motivation and division of motives. The specifics of motivation in the field of learning foreign languages are also pointed out. The second level of the theoretical part is the plurilingual repertoire. This part is principally devoted to the language politics of the Council of Europe and the Common European Framework for Languages. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis stands on the basis of a survey. The research was focused on students of various specializations of bachelor study at the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The aim of the research was to find out what motivates students to learn foreign languages and which language level they reach in the given foreign languages, in each language skill separately.
