Žďára, Zbyněk ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The is a review om the topic of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete and their possible use in road construction in the theoretical part. The individual chapters deal with describing these materials, their production, and their use in construction layers of pavements. In the next chapters the attention is also paid to their problematic features and foreign experience using these materials in pavements. In the practical part, laboratory samples of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete and their mixtures with cement are tested. The main purpose is to verify the applications of these mixtures of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete in the bonded base layers of the pavement. Another purpose is to compare how these mixtures individual properties with different proportions of both components and different amounts of cement will be different. In the end, the two mixtures with the best properties was selected and the modulus of elasticity was experimentally determined for the possibility of replacing the currently used base layers and the economic evaluation of this design was made.

The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of explanation of the problem. The thesis includes definitions as Bitumen, Asphalt Mixture, Asphalt Binder, Cut-back Bitumen and Viscosity. The practical part is focused mainly on the description of the test methods used on Asphalt Binders and Mixtures which were intended for repairs. It describes differences between used Asphalt Binders and explains and describes other used materials. The practical part compares the mixtures of different Cut-back Bitumen. It describes the production process and project of Cut-back bitumen mixture, the production process of individual test solids and compares the differences with hot made asphalt mixture. It also describes the analysis of volumetric, mechanical-physical and funcional tests in purpose of evaluating the differences between standard Cut-back Bitumen and new biofluxed asphalt binder.
Comparison of selected parameters of tensile strength of concrete
Rozsypalová, Iva ; Žítt, Petr (referee) ; Daněk, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with a comparison of the selected strength tension properties of the hardened concrete and finding relationships between them. This is essentially a simple tensile strength, tensile flexural strength and tensile splitting strength. The text describe the testing procedures to determine the tensile strength of concrete. Furthermore, there are presented the results of testing on different types of concrete (plain concrete, lightweight concrete, steel-fiber concrete, polymer-fibre concrete and high strength concrete). The conclusion deals with the derivation of dependancy between concrete strengths and comparing the values obtained from the available relations with the results of the tests.
Influence of multiple cyclic loading on the selected parameters of lightweight concrete
Alexa, Martin ; Misák, Petr (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the observation of the values of selected parameters (especially the static modulus of elasticity) of light-weight concrete in compression before and after multiple cyclic loading. The deformation of test specimens during multiple cyclic loading were measured with resistive strain gauges. Test specimens (cylinders with a diameter of 150 mm and height of a 300 mm) were cyclically loaded and up to 4 500 loading cycles were performed. The aim of this thesis is assessment changes in the values of static modulus of elasticity depending on the number of loading cycles.
Bound mixtures for the base layers of pavements using glass fibers
Elabd, Ahmed Samy ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part gathers available information on bound mixtures for base layers of pavements, providing basic information on the most commonly used types of recycled materials and their use in roads. It also includes various types of binders and requirements for their use. The thesis also explains the importance of reducing the amount of dosed hydraulic binders to eliminate negative impacts on the environment and for economic reasons, offering an alternative possibility of stabilizing soils into mixtures for subbase layers of roads. The practical part of this thesis focuses on the possibility of using glass fibers as a reinforcing element at low doses of binder. The main goal was to evaluate the designed mixtures with a hydraulic binder with the addition of glass fibers, depending on the results of bound mixtures with only glass fiber addition. These options were verified and subsequently compared using laboratory tests.
The utilization of the pavement waste materials to roads
Furdaničová, Alice ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the use of recycled asphalt with aggregate in a hydraulically bound mixtures. The mixture is determined in the base or sub-base course of the pavement. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes the base course of the pavement, the production of recyclates from construction demolition waste, the acquisition and processing of recycled asphalt, the road reuse and recycling. The thesis is enriched by a contribution from the implementation of recycled asphalt laying into the base course of the communication company SKANSKA a.s. and ČNES a.s. The next chapter describes detailed experiences with recycling abroad. The thesis also contains a description of laboratory tests, which are important for evaluating the properties of mixtures with recycled asphalt. The practical part verifies the suitability of the mixture of recycled asphalt and aggregate for the road surface by testing the transverse tensile strength, compressive strength and frost and water resistance. The mixtures used are found to be suitable for pavement base course.
The building waste for bound mixtures of the pavements
Pokluda, Radim ; Valentin,, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
In the theoretical part of the thesis are generally characterized hydraulically bound mixtures, their types, classification systems, manufacturing technology and the laying. There are also described experiences from abroad with the use secondary and recycled materials in hydraulically bound mixtures. The practical part deals with the experimental verification of the possibility of the use of secondary materials in hydraulically bound mixtures in construction of road infrastructure. In road laboratory Institute of road structures Brno university of technology was the five proposed mixtures, an assessment of their parameters with regard to the possibility of using these mixtures in the road sub-base layers. The work is also aimed at comparison of results elasticity modules reached laboratory testing and experimental measurements on road polygon.

The thesis is focused on the use of R-material into cold asphalt mixtures, which is modern method using recyclate into subgrade of roads. Concretely, it deals with basic properties of R-material, such as grain size and compaction. It practically verifies and compares properties of cold asphalt mixtures with cement, asphalt emulsion or with combination of this two binders. As reference testing method was chosen test of tensile splitting strength.
The Influence of Moisture of Lightweight Aggregate on the Concrete Properties
Pešek, Lukáš ; Lišovský, Martin (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of moisture of lightweight aggregate on the concrete properties. In the experiment, test specimens from two different lightweight aggregate, and two different input moisture states of lightweight aggregate were tested. The tests were performed to determine the basic properties of lightweight concrete after 7, 28 and 90 days of maturing. Compressive strength, tensile splitting strength and depth of penetration of water under pressure were determined on cubic specimens. On the test prisms were performed tests to determine the flexural strength and dynamic modulus of elasticity. The results were processed and evaluated in tabular and graphical form to determine statistical data and formulate a conclusion.
