The bachelor thesis is composed of a translation of a German text and a commentary. It is a translation of six selected chapters from the publication Neustart: Wie soziale Netzwerke unsere Psyche beeinflussen, which is written by Lisa Pensberger. The book deals with the social media's effects on our mental health. The aim is to make a functionally equivalent translation. The commentary consists of a translation analysis inspired by Christiane Nord, a typology of translation shifts, a description of the translation method and translation problems including their solutions.
