Words of a German origin in Russian

This diploma thesis is concerned with the theme of adopted German words in Russian language. While working on my thesis I used method of excerption words from the dictionary of foreign words. In accordance with this method, I was able to find more than 700 words which I finally processed from different linguistic perspectives. In theoretic part of my diploma thesis I was concerning possibility of word adoption, types of adopted words, adoptions from foreign languages and history of word adoption from German language to Russian language. In practical part, I was concerning with phonetic, orthographic, morphological, word-forming and stylistic aspect of adopted German words. The last chapter is devoted to the semantic characteristics of loanwords and their division into thematic categories. The list of all excerpted words in Russian and also their Czech translation is included in the annexe.

Contemporary Czech Neologisms Reflecting Social Networks

This bachelor thesis discusses the neologism that has appeared on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). The first part of this thesis summarizes and classifies the finding of relevant literature, describes lexical units and defines terms as neologism, neosemanticism, loan word and social network. The second part include semantic and word-forming analysis of found neologism with special attention to loan neologism and its adaption. The thesis is materially based on social networks, articles about social networks and the database NEOMAT. The conclusion summarizes results of the research. The appendix of this thesis includes the list of new found lexical items, a table of frequency of found neologism and links of used articles.

Contemporary Czech Sports Neologisms

This bachelor thesis discusses the new appearance of substantive, adjective, verbal, and adverbial phrases in the sports area of the Czech language. The thesis is materially based on the database NEOMAT (Institute of the Czech Language of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic), the databases of the Czech National Corpus, and the Newton Media archive. The first part of the thesis covers the definition of the concept of neologism. The following chapter discusses the ways of genesis of neologies whereas it pays special attention to loan neologisms. The neologisms are being described according to their word-formation type and also to their semantic type in the case of substantives. The conclusion summarizes results of the research. TITLE: Words of Old Church Slavonic Origin in Contemporary Russian Language AUTHOR: Jitka Peschel DEPARTMENT: Department of Russian studies and didactics SUPERVISOR: doc. PhDr. Lilia Nazarenko, CSc. ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis researches words of Old Church Slavonic origin in contemporary Russian language. The aim is to provide a comprehensive analysis of these words in the Russian language. The diploma thesis is divided into three parts. The first part describes the origin of the Old Church Slavonic language, its arrival in Russia, its influence on the Russian language, the penetration of the Old Church Slavonic words in the Russian language, as well as the development of the Russian standard language. The other two parts are dedicated to words of Old Church Slavonic origin in contemporary Russian language. The second part analyses the phonetic, morphological, semantic and stylistic aspects of these words. The third part is focused on the differences in meaning of Old Church Slavonic words having Russian equivalents and semantic processes by which words of Old Church Slavonic origin passed.
