Dental Hygiene impact on oral health guality of patients with dental implants

Dental hygiene and oral health is a topic that is currently discussed.. Dental health reflects the overall health of humans and vice versa damaged teeth can significantly reduce health and quality of life. The results clearly confirm that the largest share of the poor quality of oral health is poor oral hygiene. That's why prevention is the most effective tool, provided that the patient is properly educated and motivated to take responsibility for the state of his teeth. From my experience at Dental emergency. We know, that the reality is different. Bachelor thesis is focused on demonstrating the positive impact of dental hygiene. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy and physiology of teeth, briefly describes the most important oral diseases caused by malhygiene. It introduce a possible solution of tooth loss using dental implant and prosthetics. Empirical part is divided into two parts. The first one is focused to demonstrates the positive effect of dental hygiene of patients with established dental implants. This particular group of patients was chosen on purpose, because these patients are properly and repeatedly instructed to care intensely of their implants, because the lifetime of the implant after surgery depends on their care. The importance of oral hygiene on children of Romany ethnic group with the focus on preventive measures resulting in the reduction of oral cavity diseases frequency.

The main objective of this diploma thesis is to describe an awareness and level of oral hygiene of children of Romany ethnic group and subsequently optimize the care of oral cavity leading to the reduction in frequency of hanging apparatus illnesses. The other target of this thesis is a preparation of educational program that would motivate children to correct and regular dental hygiene. The thesis deals with history and characteristic of Romany ethnic group, issues of Romany children and low-threshold centre for children and youth in Český Krumlov. It also informs on periodontal diseases of oral cavity, tooth decay pathogenesis and subsequent prevention and therapy of tooth decay. The practical part is focused on awareness of Romany children of oral hygiene using a questionnaire method. Five main hypothesises were defined and subsequently verified by qualitative method, specifically by anonymous questionnaire investigation done at three subjects. Following the questionnaires evaluation, which was done by Microsoft Excel graphs, a verification of the defined hypothesises was done using a chi-test. An educational program developed for my bachelor thesis was also used in this part. The educational program was subsequently extended and training was done. Further to the education, the dental hygiene awareness of Romany children was improved by 27 %. The thesis is a theoretical instruction for practical mastering of oral cavity care and dental hygiene for each individual how tries to improve his dental health.

The Dissertation work presented herein monitors the significance of oral hygiene in adults, while aiming at preventive measures leading to lowering mouth cavity illness occurrences. Within the theoretical part, I focus on the delineation of important terms relating to preventive care for oral cavity, information concerning anatomy, physiology of oral cavity, influence of foods and other problems within the oral cavity, among which there are tooth cavities and diseases of gingiva. In the practical part of the work I aim on the assessment of the level of oral health, trough the help of applied clinical research methodologies and investigative tooth indices such as API, PBI, and CPITN. Furthermore, educational materials are passed on, for the purpose of dissemination of needed information in the area of dental hygiene, teaching correct teeth brushing techniques, and utilization of other between-the-tooth tools. The following graphic presentation reveals the level of dental health. As well, within my work, I have verified that, within a larger proportion of patients an improved oral hygiene ensued; thanks to educational program together with an improved home oral hygiene care. Familiarity, care of oral cavity and dental hygiene are the most important prerequisites for each individual, when attempting to improve dental health.
