The Effect of oil price shocks on the Czech economy

Analyzing the available data writers can conclude that notwithstanding the full dependence of the Czech economy on oil imports, its overall dependence on imported energy sources is relatively low. Compared to the EU15 level the energy intensity of the Czech economy is quite high.

Commodities as an investment instrument

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce commodities as instruments competing with other forms of investments with respect to oil as an energy commodity. The thesis gives a comprehensive picture of commodity markets including the oil ones. The introduction of theoretical part is generally focused on commodities traded in the world markets. In the commodity market there is described a commodity exchange and investment opportunities with a focus on commodity derivatives. The remaining theoretical part covers the issue of oil which is one of the greatest current risks for global economies growth. In the practical part there is an analysis of oil prices with the characteristics of making oil prices and an analysis of the factors and effects of oil price growth.
OPEC and its politics during the first oil crisis

First oil crisis played an important role in shaping of world economy. Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries played great role in this process. This paper deals with political and economical background of the time period prior to oil crisis, in front all with situation in the USA and Middle East. Oil market analysis, especially focused on the influence of group known as Seven sisters and its struggle with OPEC, can bring us many answers to questions about rising of the oil crisis. Important part of the paper is an analysis of impact of OPEC's behavior to world economy in the 70's. This behavior led to rise of several situations and to a formation of oil market as we know it today.
