The usage of the recycled aggregates to roads from the point of view of economical and ecological conception
Trávníček, Dušan ; Varaus, Michal (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is based on decision making process connected with the usages of recycled and natural aggregates in a road construction. In the research I deal with the ways of recycling and their economic and environmental benefits for society. The practical part then uses this information to bring the real results.
Usage of kevlar fibres in asphalt mixtures
Mazáč, Jan ; Hegr, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with topic of using aramid (Kevlar) fibres in road engineering in asphalt mixtures. Theoretical part of thesis is describing characteristics of aramid fibres and their technical usage. Thesis deals with research and application of aramid fibres abroad and also in Czech Republic. Practical part deals with influence of aramid fibres, namely FORTA FI fibres in mixture with modified binder for wearing course. An integral part of this thesis is a description of all methods that were used during the processing of the practical part. In the end of the thesis there are outcomes of tests and theoretical research.
Recycling of asphalt mixtures with standard amount of RAP
Staňková, Michaela ; Koudelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of an asphalt mixture for an abrasive layer with a standard R-material content (20 %) without the use of other softening additives, while the properties of the aged asphalt binder in the mixture were compensated by dosing "softer binder 70/100". Asphalt mixtures type ACO 11+ are designed to meet the requirements ČSN 73 6121: 2019. The aim of the work is to verify the expected properties of the asphalt mixture performed functional and empirical tests according to the standards for asphalt mixtures of the ČSN EN 12697 series.
Usage of fast-reacting SBS polymer in the production of asphalt mixtures
Dohnálek, Jakub ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is a research of bituminous binder modification by fast react-ing polymer SBS. The theoretical part covers an introduction to bituminous binders, their pro-duction, chemical and physical-mechanical properties. The identification of bituminous binders and their use in bituminous mixtures is briefly described. To conclude, current modification methods are described in detail and important modifiers are introduced. In the practical part, three applied tests (softening point, elastic recovery and penetration) are described in detail. The bituminous binders tested (20/30, 30/45, 70/100, PMB 25/55-55 and PMB 45/80-50) and the fast-reacting polymer SBS are introduced. Samples with two weight percentages of SBS, 7,5% and 10%, are produced. Two mixing times, 60 seconds and 600 seconds were used to mix the bituminous binder and SBS. In conclusion, the results are evaluated and commented. Further research suggestions regarding this field are recommended.
