The diploma thesis elaborates on the design of a new building of freestanding retirement home in the town of Litomyšl. The design of the retirement home is in the form of project documentation for the construction. The new building includes a partial basement and three floors. The main purpose is to build a building for housing with flats for seniors and to provide health care to seniors living here and from the surrounding area. On the 1st floor, there is an administrative part, a doctor's office with the possibility of rehabilitation and a dining room with facilities for food preparation, which is imported into the home. The dining room serves both the guests and the public. The remaining part of the first floor consists of social, administrative and utility rooms. On the 2nd and 3rd floors, there are individual apartments for clients with a common room for visits and spending their free time. On the 1st floor, there is a maintenance center, boiler room, server room, furniture store, and estate depository. Basement walls are monolithic, made of reinforced concrete. The construction system of the above-ground floors is wall-mounted, bidirectional and made of ground brick blocks. The ceilings and staircases are monolithic, made of reinforced concrete. External walls are insulated with a contact thermal insulation systems. The building is mainly based on footings or foot anchors. The retirement home is located on the edge of the town near the Litomyšl Hospital. The land is suitable for construction, as it is located in the area for the construction of civil buildings.

The aim of this Master´s project is to design a new restaurant with a guest house at the outskirt of the city Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. The proposed building has a ground floor in the first part of the building and two ground floors and attic in the second part. The first includes technical facilities, a storage space, a wellness area, toilets and a restaurant with a kitchen. The other floors are designed for accommodation with a total 10 rooms. The structure is based on strip foundations. The structural system is made of masonry walls. The external wall of the building is made of ceramics blocs, insulated with ETISC. The floor structure is designed as precast concrete panels. The roof of the single floor of the building is designed as a flat roof. The roof above attics is designed as a pitched roof. The project contains designed of photovoltaic panels, heating and HVAC. The systems are designed to maximize ecologic efficiently. The third part of this diploma thesis is the spatial acoustics of the restaurant and salon.

The thesis is a case study about Prague new housing estate, that is a build-up area very similar to housing estates from the socialist era. It differs in some aspects of living conditions on the other hand. The thesis is conceived as a "chapter from urban sociology". It's devided into three parts. The first part constitutes theoretical background of the empirical survey. It makes readers acquainted with the branch of urban sociology and with is narrower theme sociology of architecture. It puts forward basic conceptions of this branch - sociological perception of migration (move), neighbourhood, dwelling choice (and connected decision process) and satisfaction with it, public places and neighbourhood units (mixed-use areas). The thesis follows the situation at the Czech (Prague) housing market, that closes the whole theoretical part. The second part of the thesis describes an object of the case study - Slunečný vršek. It pictures the nearest locality and broader surrounding of the new housing estate. The theoretical part followed by description lead in the empirical part of quantitative empirical survey that was realized by questionnaing local inhabitants (inhabitants of the new housing estate Slunečný vršek).
