Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Diagnosis peripheral facialis palsy
Leszkow, David ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Author: David Leszkow Title: Case study of physiotherapy care for patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to write down theoretical basis related to the diagnosis of peripheral facial palsy. The second part of this thesis is case study of one patient with Bell's palsy. Methods: Soft tissue techniques, Jebavá's approach, Kenny's method, Kabat's method. Results: Patient's right facial side muscular strength improved and at the same time resting facial expressions were restored. There was an increase in the resting muscle tone of the right side, thus removing the lagophthalmos and the sagging corner of the mouth. Conclusion: Thanks to the use of the above methods, the patient was rehabilitated to almost full muscle strength and functionality of the right side of the face, at the rest and also with active muscle involvement. Keywords: Bell's palsy, treatment of peripheral palsy, facial palsy, facial nerve, case study, mimic muscles, physiotherapy

Author: Iveta Duchatschová Institute: Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague Název práce: Kinesiotherapy and physical therapy in peripheral facial nerve paresis Supervisor: Mgr. Bohumila Horká Number of parties: 83 Number of attachments: 0 Year of defence: 2012 Key words: peripheral palsy, facial nerve, kinesiotherapy, physical therapy, regimen measurements, cranial nerves, facial muscles The thesis summarizes basic knowledge of Peripheral facial nerve palsy. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy of facial nerve, aetiology of paresis, epidemiology of this disease, clinical symptoms, medical examination and possible treatments. The individual methodologies from the physiotherapy that may be applied in different combinations during the medial rehabilitation procedures in order to achieve the best possible effects are analysed in more detail. Another point of the thesis is the regimen measurements that the patients should follow in order to prevent potential complications or deterioration. The theoretical knowledge is followed by practical part, which examines the case study of two patients with facial nerve palsy diagnosis. It focuses on the medical examination of the state of the disease done by physiotherapist, therapy used in these particular cases and results that the therapy...

Thesis title: Casuistry of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy Aim of the thesis: The aim of the thesis is to present theoretical information about the peripheral facial nerve palsy diagnosis. Further, the practical part of the thesis describes the use of chosen physiotherapeutic ways of the diagnosis treatment. Methods used: The theoretical part of the thesis presents anatomical context, clinical symptoms, ways of examination, treatment possibilities, including physiotherapy, and information about parotidectomy which may cause the peripheral nervus facialis palsy. The practical part of the thesis describes in detail the casuistry of the patient diagnosed with the peripheral nervus facialis palsy after operation of glandula parotis. Specifically, entrance clinical examination, short-term and long-term plan are made out, followed by records of nine therapy sessions and final output kinesiological analysis. Keywords: peripheral palsy, nervus facialis, adenom glandula parotis, Kenny Method, electrostimulation, kinesiotaping, mimic muscles
Case Study of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy
Pekařová, Monika ; Hassmannová, Kristina (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Thesis title: Case Study of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy Author: Monika Pekařová Advisor: Mgr. Kristina Hassmannová Aim of the thesis: This bachelor thesis contains a summary of expert knowledge about peripheral nerve palsy and a case study of a patient with this diagnosis. Theoretical part covers anatomical and neurophysiological context, etiology, epidemiology and treatment options. The practical part has been carried out during internship at the Kladno Regional hospital from 26. 1. 2021 until 23. 2. 2021. It consists of an entry clinical examination, short-term and long-term therapeutical plan and daily therapy record. The therapy was concluded by a final kinesiological examination and an evaluation of therapy effect. The ten therapeutical sessions contributed to facial muscles strengthening by 3-4 grades, reduction of swelling and elimination of pathological symptoms. I do believe that the prognosis of the patient for a full recovery is optimistic. Keywords: facial nerve, peripheral palsy, facial palsy, physiotherapy, Bell's palsy
Physiotherapeutic care for patient with nervus facialis paralysis case study
Harasimová, Petra ; Kučerová, Ilona (advisor) ; Hassmannová, Kristina (referee)
Title: Physiotherapeutic care for patient with nervus facialis paralysis case study Objectives: The goal of this thesis is to establish theoretical basis related to the given problem, recording of related therapeutic sessions, initial and final kinesiological analysis and evaluation of therapeutic results for the case recorded. Methods: We look up relevant theoretical work related to facial nerves and muscles. We summarize known methods of approaching the problem. Practical section describes general cause peripheral paralysis of nervus facialis case study. There is an initial kinesiological analysis in this section, short term as well as a long term physiotherapeutic plan and recording of ten sessions with the patient along with final kinesiological analysis. Keywords: Periferal paralysis, Bells polio, nervus facialis, facial nerve, mimic muscles, sister Kenna method, soft tissue techniques, case study, physiotherapy

Casuistry of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy
Křížová, Lucie ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Reckziegelová, Petra (referee)
Thesis title: Casuistry of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy Aim of thesis: The main aim of this thesis, as well as of its specialised part, is a detailed casuistry of physiotherapy care of a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy. Firstly, resource materials were collected during my practical training in Regional Hospital Kladno, in time period January 23 - February 17, 2017. Casuistry consists of a clinical examination, short - term and long - term plan of physiotherapy care, therapy sessions' records and evaluation of used methods. Another aim was to elaborate on the topic of peripheral facial palsy in the theoretical part of the thesis. Thesis summary: For my therapies I used the following physiotherapy methods and techniques, in particular the Soft Tissue Mobilization: Postisometric Relaxation by Lewit (PIR) and antigravity method by Zbojan (AGR) to relax hypertonic muscles, Fascial Stretch Therapy and Joint Mobilization by Lewit and PIR with stretching by Janda. Peripheral facial palsy was treated by facial massage, Jebavá's foam ball massage therapy and kinesiotaping. Main part of the therapy consisted of practising the Kenny Method. Moreover, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) by Kabat was applied to strengthen the facial muscles....
