Design of Mobile X-Ray Scanner
Kiliánová, Kateřina ; Chrenka, Ferdinand (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of a mobile X-ray intended for a hospital environment. In the design, emphasis is placed on the compact connection of the shape of the body of the mobile X-ray and the flexible arm, which responds to the knowledge obtained from the design analysis, technical analysis and especially user analysis. The design is harmonious and minimalistic. It stands out from the competitors with a new type of flexible arm, plenty of storage space, and mainly innovations connected to the device's power supply. The greatest contribution of the work is an innovative approach in terms of ergonomics, which responds to the problems associated with the daily use of the device.
Hospital Na Františku - from religiouses, over the emperor, up to present day
BARTÍKOVÁ, Alžběta
Located in the heart of the capital city of Prague, hospital Na Františku is the longest operating healthcare facility in Czech Republic and possibly even in the wider region. Its origins date back to the mid-14th century, with the first mentions of its buildings found in historical sources. Despite its rich and extensive history and current status as the longest operating hospital, there is currently no standalone publication that comprehensively addresses the history of the hospital and the circumstances that influenced its evolution. The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive and chronological overview of the historical events at the hospital. Additionally, this work seeks to impart knowledge to all those, who are interested in the hospital's past, as it provides more detailed descriptions and explanations of some of the more publicly appealing facts that are often misinterpreted due to questionable journalistic popularization. The whole diploma thesis has been conducted as a qualitative historical research, with the chosen investigative method being analysis of historical sources. The main origins of information were historical books, contemporary periodicals, and archival materials. All the information have been thoroughly analyzed and utilized to reconstruct the history and operation of the hospital. A significant resource was the collection of the Brothers of Mercy stored in the National Archive of Prague, along with numerous books and documents from the Brothers of Charity library and archive in Brno. Additional historical literary materials were discovered within the library of Institute for history of medicine and foreign languages. The synthesis of data primarily focused on key historical events that occured at the hospital as well as the eminent figures who worked within its walls. The history of the facility is also strongly associated with the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, that run the hospital for over 300 years. Therefore, attention is also given to this order and the healthcare provided by the brothers at the hospital. The outcome of the work is a detailed summary of key events and changes within the hospital over the centuries. Each period is described with an emphasis on significant transformations, innovations, events, and personalities associated with the hospital. Additionally, the work covers key historical events such as epidemics, wars and changes in social and political conditions that have influenced the hospital and healthcare in a broader context.
Issues of geriatric palliative care
ŘÍHOVÁ, Marcela
Introduction: As the number of elderly people increases, so do the demands for specialized palliative care. Therefore, this bachelor thesis deals with the issue of palliative care in geriatric individuals. Objectives of the thesis: This thesis aims to find out what knowledge nurses, in selected wards, have about geriatric palliative care and what is the continuity, of geriatric palliative care, between hospitals and nursing homes. Methodology: The qualitative research technique of the semi-structured interview method was used. Using the snowball sampling method, the research population consisted of nurses selected based on specified criteria. A total of 11 interviews were conducted with general nurses working in the South Bohemia and West Bohemia regions. The results were processed using the "pencil paper" method. Within the framework of open coding, 6 categories, 18 subcategories, and 154 codes were identified. Results: Nurses in selected departments are informed about geriatric palliative care issues and are still interested in further education. The results also indicate deficiencies in the amount of information being conveyed. Sending patients/clients in inappropriate conditions was repeatedly mentioned. Communication among nurses takes place through transfer messages or, if necessary, minimal telephone contact. Nurses provide standard care for geriatric palliative patients, but in some areas, they have an individual approach based on the needs and desires of the patient. Conclusion: The research results once again underscore the necessity of paying greater attention to the quality and organization of handover between hospital facilities and senior care homes.

Brno City Hospital
Seďa, Ondřej ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of a town hospital at Kraví hora in Brno. The design of the new city hospital in Brno replaces the functions of two existing city hospitals, the Merciful Brothers Hospital and the Trauma Hospital, whose technologies do not meet the medical requirements of the 21st century. In the hospital there are standard facilities, namely outpatient medical facilities, including day hospitals, central blood collection, emergency, operating rooms, central sterilization, anesthesiology and resuscitation departments, intensive care units, maternity and neonatology departments, examination complement , laboratories, rehabilitation departments, inpatient departments of surgical and internal medicine, non - medical and commercial premises, personnel background, technical background and parking. The hospital is a 10-storey building. The main idea of the design was to create a hospital with the views of the park even Brno skyline.

Analysis of behaviour of reinforced concrete slab
Kubínek, Michal ; Bažant, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis describes the analysis of behavior of existing reinforced concrete slab, locally supprorted, ceiling in hospital including 2nd limit state. Calculation od internal forces was made by computer program SCIA Engineer. Several models were made, model with best behavior due to real construction was used for dimensioning. Each model was compared with manual calculation by equivalent frame analysis. After finding inconvenient deflection, especially due to connected construction, new design was made. Thickness of slab was increased and new design of reinforcement was made. New construction was verified for both limit states.
Airconditioning in healthcare facilities
Růžička, Věroslav ; Jelínek, Ondřej (referee) ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with design of air conditioning equipment serving the spaces of hospital inpatient ward and its associated facilities. Equipments designed in the computational part have the task to transport adapted fresh air to hospital premises. The system is devided into two units. Primary mechanism operates bedrooms and their sanitary facilities. Secondary mechanism operates associated facilities. Both mechanisms are designed so that hot air can ventilate in winter. To cover the heat load in summer, fancoil units are designed. Device number one is also able to manage the treatment of humidity. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on air filters and filtration of atmospheric air.
