Population and religion - possibilities of study in the Czech Republic

This work deals with the possibilities of population study of religion in the Czech Republic after 1921. It is divided into two parts. The first is theoretical and it shows the way in which the study is lead up to. The second deals with the practical possibilities of religious studies in demographic perspective. In this section census data on sex, age and religious affiliation are used as a basis for drawing up a detailed description of the gender-age structure. Data are analysed on two basic levels. At the higher are compared three basic populations defined on the basis of religion. On the lower the internal structure of the population of person's "confession" is examined. The analysis shows that the number of people who belong to any religion between 1991-2011, greatly decreased, and that they form the part of the population which aged rapidly. The population is also according to the census more feminine. It turns out that it was more a result of the age structure than the tendency of women to declare their religious beliefs. Analysis also has shown that the characteristics typical for the population "with confession", are largely determined by the three most frequent confessions: Roman Catholic, Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren and Czechoslovak Hussite Church. Religion in the Czech Republic: Basic analysis and the relationship to selected socio-demographic topics Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyse the inhabitants of the Czech Republic according to religious belief using data from surveys and also individual 2011 census data. Contemporary position of religion in society is described in the first part, focusing on characteristics of believers and non-believers. Results of surveys concerning religious belief in our region are stated in detail in the next part, oriented mainly on the period after 1989. The part with the analysis of differences in attitudes to problematic demographic behaviour according to religious belief follows, using the data from European Values Study and International Social Survey Programme. Individual data from 2011 census are analysed more in detail in the last part, focusing on newly spread religious groups and furthermore there is an analysis of believers using logistic regression. Furthermore it supplies analysis of the influence of religion on the demographic, social and economic characteristics of population, selected on the basis of consulted literature. The individual characteristics are analyzed using statistic regression, factor and cluster analysis and the influence of the resulting factors is described. Religious structure of the population of Vysočina

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the religious structure of the population of Vysočina. Its aim is the analysis and description of religion of the local population as well as its church or denominational affiliation. The analysis is realised on the level of the districts in Vysočina Region and the municipalities with extended authority. The gathered data originates from the Czech Statistical Authority from the 2011 Census of the Czech Republic. In order to assess the development of the religious structure more precisely the data from 2001 and 1991 were allowed for, too. The results of analysis are supplemented with graphs, tables and maps. The thesis includes explanation of fundamental terms of religious studies as well, which were sourced from technical literature. The next part of the thesis is devoted to characteristics of each religion, church and religious societies registered in Czech Republic with main emphasis on Christianity.
Religious structure of the population of the South-West Bohemia

This bachelor thesis deals with the religious structure of population of the South-West Bohemia in the years 1991, 2001 and 2011. It is based on results of censuses. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the spatial differentiation of the population at regional levels (regions, districts, little districts, i.e. administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers) and outline the development and the changes in religious structure of the population from 1991 to 2011. A relation between number of inhabitants of given unit and degree of religiosity is a part of the analysis. Based on expertise literature the thesis defines basic terms, describes genesis and fundamentals of the philosophy of the world religions especially christianity and characterizes churches and religious societies registered in Czech Republic.
RELIGIOUS STRUCTURE OF THE POPULATION OF SOUTH BOHEMIA

The bachelor thesis deals with the religious structure of the population of the South Bohemian Region in 2011. The main aim of this work is to characterize and analyze the population of the region according to his religion, using data from the Census 2011. Analysis is performed at the level of counties and municipalities with extended powers, it can also occurs comparison to the Czech Republic. Based on data from the previous census (2001) and expert literature monitors changes in religious behavior of the population and their relation to age structure of the population as well as the share of the population living in the rural settlements. In connection with the issue of work is also presented a summary of the literature on the basis of an overview of the evolution of religion, the history of Christianity and the major churches operating in the Czech Republic.

This thesis deals with the religious structure of the population of the Czech Republic. The aim is to characterize and analyze religion of population in the Czech Republic, that means expression of belonging to churches and religious organizations at the state and sub-national levels - regions, districts and regional cities, based on Census in 2011. Attention is also focused on the development and changes in the religious behavior of people in the Czech Republic in comparison with the previous censuses in the 2001 and 1991. Based on information obtained from the literature and statistical sources also explains the basic terms related to the geography of religion and religiosity in general, describe the evolution of religion and define specificities of the different religions, churches and religious communities registered in the Czech Republic. Finally, provides an overview of the available literature and articles devoted to the topic. The research results and their interpretation are complemented by tables, graphs and maps.
