COMPARISON OF ACUPUNCTURE SINEW CHANNELS COURSES WITH MODERN KNOWLEDGE OF MYOFASCIAL CHAINS
Soldán, Kryštof ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Veselý, Viktor (referee)
Bakalářská práce Porovnání průběhu akupunkturních šlachosvalových drah s moderními poznatky o myofasciálních řetězcích 1 Abstract Fasciae are currently a much discussed theoretical and clinical topic. Their association with muscle has inspired many Western authors to describe the so-called myofascial chains. However, a similar model was also present much earlier in the medical systems of other cultures. Traditional Chinese medicine offers one of the oldest and most accurately documented views on this topic. In the Western world, the system of twelve acupuncture meridians is relatively well known, but the whole traditional system of channels is much more complex. It also includes a description of the tendomuscular meridians, which are closely related to the musculoskeletal system and, at first glance, show similarities to the myofascial chains. This bachelor's thesis is focused on the comparison of these two views, which are roughly 2000 years apart. It was prompted by the absence of such an unbiased comparison. The theoretical part of the thesis contains a basic introduction to both the modern Western systems and the traditional view represented by the more than two thousand years old Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor. The central part of the thesis consists in a direct comparison of the pathways of each...
Effect of postural - respirative physiotherapeutic intervention during therapy of gastroesofageal reflux (GERD(
Zahrádková, Tereza ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Title: Effect of postural-respiratory physiotherapeutic intervention in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Objectives: The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis is to describe the problem and summarize the latest knowledge about gastroesophageal reflux and its current treatment approaches. Based on this theoretical knowledge, in the practical part to create a design and verify the functionality of a comprehensive therapeutic procedure and exercise set aimed at influencing the postural-respiratory function of the diaphragm and viscero- somatic manifestations of reflux disease of the oesophagus. Methods: The theoretical part of the work was processed in the form of literary research, based on information from book and electronic resources in Czech, English and German language. A total of 16 probands with a diagnosis of GERD were included in the research part, which were subsequently divided into two groups of 8 - experimental and control. Both groups were to undergo a series of 8 physiotherapies within one month as indicated by the physician. In addition, a set of yoga asanas and pranayama was added to the daily exercise sets of the experimental group, which were aimed at improving the postural-respiratory ability of the diaphragm, overall coactivation of myofascial chains...
The influence of foot position on the size of the Q angle in patients with painful knee joint syndromes
Zimová, Barbora ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Author: Bc. Barbora Zimová Title: The influence of foot position on the size of the Q angle in patients with painful knee joint syndromes Objectives: This master thesis aims to assess the effect of the foot on the position of the knee joint, particularly whether the degree of flat-footedness affects the Q angle and whether an active foot correction can change this angle. Furthermore, this thesis aims to compare whether painful knee joint syndromes affect these parameters in any way. Methods: A group of 40 probands with a total average age of 27 years and a unilateral painful knee joint syndrome, at least 6 months apart from incidental injuries/surgeries, underwent a complex clinical examination with a focus on the researched aspects associated with knee joint problems. This was followed by the making of a plantogram - - an examination of the pressure distribution of the foot by a machine from the company Pedikom, taking a photograph to evaluate the Q angle and the orientation of the talus position, complementing the qualitative evaluation of the sole image. An active correction of the foot position was then performed along with a simple exercise to support the longitudinal arch of the foot by activating the myofascial chains associated with it. The two examinations were then repeated. The...
