The theme of my diploma thesis is reconstruction of old exhibition hall “B” of BVV Trade Fairs Brno which is located at Křižkovského street near BVV gate no. 4. The exhibition hall is converted to multifunctional sports hall. This function is result of complex urban analysis, which was theme of winter semester thesis of the academic year 2017/2018. The exhibition hall gets a new curtain wall facade. Curtain wall sustains of steel construction and semi-transparent polycarbonate panels. The study converts rooms according to new usage of the hall. There are smaller halls for indoor sports, dividable central hall, tribunes, bars, locker rooms, roof wellness and outdoor multifunctional playgrounds at the roof of the hall. The study takes advantage of uncommon technical solutions of the hall. For example bridge crane which is newly used as carrying construction for LED multimedia cube.

The architectural-urban study of the sports and recreational centre Za Lužánkami in Brno deals with the complex design of the sports and recreational complex. At present, the area of the former Boby Centre is in a poor condition. Fully functioning buildings in the area are a hotel, a concert hall and a tennis hall with outdoor courts, while the remaining buildings and areas, led by the football stadium, are dilapidated and do not fulfil their potential for public life. I approached the assignment as a solution to a complicated problem with many variables. The design provides a clear definition and morphology of the buildings, living, sports and recreational areas, including green spaces. It helps to social interaction and induce new contacts between people. It addresses the needs of current and future generations of residents. Connects and links to the transport infrastructure of the neighbourhood at all levels. Refers to the past and thus preserves in all respect the famous sporting genius of the locus to which it adds its own distinctive added value. Based on the design concept, a study has been carried out that takes advantage of a quality site in an attractive location in the city and offers a range of sports and recreational facilities. The main idea behind the design was to connect and relate the area to its surroundings. To offer a high quality public realm that will appeal to as many residents as possible across all generations through its range of functions and focus. Proportionate to its size and importance, several masses and objects were designed to divide the large area into smaller interconnected units. Each area has its own face, its own content and its own typical atmosphere that will win over its users. A good public space can be recognised by the way its users treat it. It becomes a mirror of society. If the design listens to the wishes and needs of the majority of the inhabitants, it becomes useful and sustainable at any time.
Územní studie jako podklad pro územní plánování vybrané lokality
VEČEŘOVÁ, Simona
This thesis deals with a territorial study, which serves as a basis for spatial planning. The territorial study is prepared for area defined by the size of the administrative area of Chlum u Třeboně, which has four cadastral areas. Based on a detailed description and evaluation of the current state of the town, an absence of sport and culture space was found. A possible strategy for the future is construction of a multifunctional sports hall which would serve for both cultural events and sport purposes. The aim of the work is to develop a territorial study, which has the main task to select an area for the construction of a multifunctional sports hall. Based on several proposed areas, the most suitable one should be selected, where the construction plan can be realized.
