The bachelor thesis deals with the motivation sources supporting mental health in pre-adolescent girls. The theoretical part of the work includes findings on health as a whole and from several different points of view. An independent chapter is dedicated to the definition of the term mental health and its determiners, focusing mainly on sleep. The major part of the theoritical section of the work deals with the characteristics of pre-adolescent girls and a description of the changes in this stage of development. The research section is concerned with the results and data obtained from the intervention programme, which was created in cooperation with Eliška Šindelirová and subsequently applied to the 6th and 8th forms of primary school. The programme was aimed at mapping the state of sleeping habits among pre-adolescent girls and the subsequent motivation and support of correct sleeping habits. All the results which were possible to obtain within the frame of the entire intervention programme are presented in the research section. It was proved that pre-adolescent girls don{\crq}t follow the sleep regime appropriate to their age, but computer games are not the reason for the lower sleep quotas. Based on the results, we recomend the inclusion of the topics of sleep problems within hours of health education curriculum in primary schools.
