The Diploma Thesis is focused on consolidated financial statements, which specifies propose of consolidation rules of chosen group of companies via the analysis of current status of group of companies joined by a capital. The Diploma Thesis contains the basic characteristics of consolidated financial statements, analysis of current status and proposal of consolidation rules for chosen group of companies. It concern the group of companies, which fulfil conditions for mandatory assembling of consolidated accounts, but are not assembling such consolidated accounts yet.

Assessing the Synergistic Effects of the Selected Consolidated Entity

The thesis focuses on the methods of assessment of synergy effects in a consolidated entity. The text includes a assessment of economic situation of the consolidated unit and analyzes a draft set of economic indicators suitable for assessing of synergy effect. Synergy effect is monitored in several selected areas through a comparison between the consolidated unit and the mother company. Results of the analysis of the draft indicators are assessed to determine whether synergies were achieved after the acquisition.

This master´s thesis deals with the consolidated financial statements and with the use of the financial analysis methods for consolidated financial statements and for the individual financial statements as well. Due to use of these methods the financial results of consolidating company are compared with the financial results of the consolidated group. There are also uncovered and identified problems and suggestions for the future improvement are presented.
