Electromagnetic calculation of an electrical machine for Aerospace applications
Halašta, Vítězslav ; Knebl, Ladislav (referee) ; Bárta, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the electromagnetic calculation of an electrical machine for aerospace applications. Description of the state of art trends that are currently being used in the aircraft industry and requirements for such machines were formulated. Further, electromagnetic model of the machine designed for aerospace applications is created and the electromagnetic calculation using the finite element method is performed. A design process and a comparison of machines designed for this application is also included. The modeled machine was simulated at no load, rated load and faulty condition. Reasons behind the choice of permanent magnet synchronous motor alongside particular steps in design required for machine application in aerospace are presented in the conclusion. There is also discussed, whether the modeled machine is correctly designed for aerospace application.
Possibilities of reducing the amount of fuel for taxiing
Benko, Marek ; Kružlicová, Alžbeta (referee) ; Sklenář, Filip (advisor)
This master´s thesis evaluates the possibility of combining electric taxiing system with present as well as future airplanes of MEA concept. The theoretical introduction is followed by analysis of taxi times, which is focused on influencing factors and miscellaneous drawbacks. The possibilities of reduction of taxiing drawbacks are presented afterwards with an emphasis on electric taxiing systems. The description of MEA concept follows. The practical part deals with draft of electric taxi system for four different airplanes. For each of these airplanes the required power and possibilities of supplying this power on board are evaluated as well as potential savings and benefits of this solution.
Accelerated endurance testing of electromechanical airplane actuator
Fritscher, Matyáš ; Juračka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Klištinec, Dávid (advisor)
This diploma thesis, created in cooperation with Honeywell International, s.r.o., focuses on long-term durability testing of electromechanical actuators (EMA) for aerospace applications. Due to the current trend of replacing hydraulic actuation with electromechanical actuation, it is necessary to develop new procedures for the testing and certification of these devices. The research conducted provides an overview of the standards relevant to the development of accelerated EMA testing. The work also describes a specific EMA long term life test and analyzes the results obtained. Two key parameters affecting EMA performance and lifetime are presented and the associated actuator components are identified. Several possible modifications based on current results are also suggested. Finally, the thesis presents conceptual proposals for accelerating similar EMA tests. The results of this thesis can provide useful input for the design of future accelerated EMA tests, thereby helping to reduce the cost and time associated with their development and market introduction.
