O T'aesŏk's Dramatic Texts in the Context of Modern Korean Literature

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze three dramatic texts by O T'aesŏk from a literal perspective, specifically Jajŏngŏ (Bicycle), Pujayuch'in (Intimacy Between Father and Son) and Sim Ch'ŏnginŭn wae tu pŏn Indangsue momŭl tŏnjyŏssnŭnga (Why Did Sim Ch'ŏng Plunge Into the Sea Twice?). In the first part I focus on genesis and development of modern Korean drama and I compare it with the development of modern Korean literature. Then I describe three key themes of analysed dramatic texts in Korean literature. In the second part I analyse three dramatic texts using the case study method and put them into context of modern Korean literature.
