Karasová, Patricie ; Kajzar, Jiří (advisor) ; Froňková, Eliška (referee)
Title: Comparison of the benefits of two muscle testing on a group of modern dancers - randomized interventional crossover study. The main goal of this bachelor's thesis was to compare the benefits of two muscle tests among modern dance dancers. A secondary goal was to determine whether muscle testing as such is beneficial for dancers, regardless of the type of muscle test used. Another goal was to map muscle imbalances and muscle strength of the dancer, to identify which muscle groups are used most and which are weakened. This pilot study involved 20 female modern dance dancers aged 18-25 years, who had been engaged in modern dance for at least three years prior to the start of the study. Exclusion criteria included serious orthopedic dysfunction, feverish and other acute conditions, and lack of interest in the study. All participants met the entry criteria and were thus included in the study. Results were collected via a questionnaire survey. The results indicate that Muscle Testing: A Concise Manual was rated as more time-efficient, physically more pleasant, and more useful for training planning compared to SFT. Additionally, the usability of muscle testing as such in modern dance was positively evaluated by the dancers. At the beginning, three hypotheses were set, the first of which was...

Kindlová, Michaela ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Vláčilová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Evaluation of postural stability in modern dance dancers Objectives: The aim of this Diploma thesis is to objectivly evaluate and compare ability of dynamic and static postural stability between modern dancers (women only) and normal healthy population (women only), who don't do any sport activities on a regular basis. Another aim of this study is to evaluate whether the personal preferences of the standing lower limb, used in performing dance piruettes, will affect the load on the lower limbs and it's stability, during testing static and dynamic postural stability. Methods: This thesis is quantitative observational cross-sectional study involved 40 women between 18-29 years. Experimental group included women dancers (n1=20) and control group included women non-athletes from faculty (n2=20). For objective measure of postural stability was used NeruCom Smart EquiTest and following five measuring protocols: Sensory Organization Test, Motor Control Test, Unilateral Stance Test, Limits of Stability a Weight Bearing Squat. Results of measurement was statistically processed in Microsoft Excel 2016 for each group and then compared between groups. For statisticial analysis was used: Shapiro-Wilk test, Student's T-test and Mann-Whitney U-test. Results: A statistically significant difference was found...

Title of the thesis: Evaluation of postural stability and function of deep stabilization system of the spine in dancers Author: Bc. Tereza Rothová Head of the thesis: Mgr. Michaela Stupková Year of defense: 2020 Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to assess static and dynamic postural stability and function of deep stabilization system of the spine in modern dancers and to compare the results with general population that does not perform any regular physical activity. Next to analyse the relations between postural stability and function of deep stabilization system of the spine in both groups. Method: This study is designed as observational comparative pilot study which included 16 modern dancers in experimental group and 11 women who do not perform any regular physical activity in control group. To evaluate the function of deep stabilization system of the spine a battery of seven tests by Kolář was created and used. Five basic testing protocols of NeuroCom Smart EquiTest, a computerized dynamic posturography device, were used to measure postural stability. Data from EquiTest were processed in NeuroCom Balance Manager software. All results were statistically analysed using Microsoft Office Excel 2016.
