Vliv bezobilné komplexní krmné směsi k výskytu toxémie u morčete domácího
KOPOROVÁ, Lenka
This diploma thesis is focused on the observation of the influence of nutrition on the presence of toxemia, the birth weight of young and their viability in domestic guinea pigs. An observed breeding of animals was determined, which was first given a commercial feed mixture containing grains. Subsequently, the breeder decided to make a change and switched to grain-free feed. All values were carefully recorded during the monitored years and then compared with each other. Great emphasis was placed primarily on the results of the occurrence of toxemia in pregnant females, as the hypothesis of today's professional literature, which increasingly points out that we can prevent this disease in guinea pigs by giving grain-free feed, was to be confirmed. The results showed that diet does not have a big effect on how many newborns are born during one gravidity and how many of them die during the first days of life. However, the feed, for example, influenced the birth weight of the guinea pigs, as the feed containing grains resulted in larger newborns being born overall. A significant influence of the animal's diet was observed in the occurrence of abortions and toxemia in females, when after the transition to a new grain-free diet, these problems completely disappeared.

Observation of play behavior of young gorilas in Prague ZOO
Svátková, Barbora ; Vančata, Václav (advisor) ; Vančatová, Marina (referee)
Observation of Observation the behavior of the game in the group of young gorillas at Prague Zoo Gorillas, as the largest among primates particularly vulnerable group of animals. In the wild, there is a continual loss of habitat due to timber extraction and rainforests. These animals live much social way of life. For the development of social communication between individuals in the offspring has a pivotal role in gaming behavior among both young themselves, and between young and adult individuals. Observations of gorillas, in order to describe the behavior of juveniles playing in the group of gorillas at the zoo in Prague during the two months were carried out. The observations took place, depending on the weather especially in the inner enclosure. The work has mapped the incidence of gaming behavior in juveniles and the Prague zoo. It was found that the frequency of gaming behavior depends on the age and sex, baby, and that game is usually initiated by an older teenage male. Initial assumptions that the babies are most active in the gaming behavior that immature males are a provocation to play more proactive than juvenile females and young males that the game tends to play more active than young females have been confirmed by observation. Furthermore, it appears that adults are not engaging...
Reproductive parameters of pet guinea pigs
KRHOUNOVÁ, Gabriela
The aim of this bachelor thesis was the observation and evaluation of female conception, as the main reproduction parameter, and the litter size in guinea-pig hobby breed. There were 50 litters evaluated in total and the results were compared with literature. In the experiment the date when the male was put in the group of females, the date of delivery and the size of the litter were recorded. The order of heat in which females got pregnant was calculated using these data. The results were visualized using tables and graphs. The results of female conceptions were considerably various, the majority of females, namely 28, became pregnant in the first heat, on the contrary, only one female became pregnant in their sixth heat. In the second, third and fourth heat total of 11, 4 and 6 respectively became pregnant. The exception was the fourth heat, while no female became pregnant. The litter sizes were also very different, females delivered from 1 to 6 pups. Four of the total 50 observed females delivered only one pup, 10 and 13 females had two and three pups respectively. The most common litter size was 4, delivered by 15 females; seven females had 5 pups and the largest size of six pups was in one case.

Sýkora, Petr ; Kušta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Benediktová, Kateřina (referee)
SÝKORA, Petr. Evaluation of the issue of young roe deer mortality during haymaking in Semilsko: Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences. The aim of the work Evaluation of the issue of young roe deer mortality during haymaking in Semilsko was the research of technical text on selected issues as well as the analysis of the hunting of Vošmenda Valley Hunting Association. On the basis of this analysis, three sites of the similar size were chosen. Subsequently, various frightening devices were placed there and the mortality of young roe deer during haymaking was studied. The next aim was the evaluation of the ratio of the loss of roe deer to measures used. The frightening devices used in order to achieve these goals were: the scent fence along with a mechanical frightening device (polystyrene boards hanging on a stick), passing through the area with a hunting dog and the site without any protective measure. The result of the work was a comparison of these sites with the mortality of young roe deer when using different protective measures. The site where a hunting dog was used turned out to be the one with no mortality. On the contrary, the site where the combination of different measures was used, turned out to be the worst one. Individual sites were influenced by various factors that affected the course of haymaking, for example the weather and time of cutting. The communication between farmers and hunters itself is also of great importance.

Abstract This thesis for the bachelors degree deals with the analysis and subsequent evaluation of the fawn mortality during haymaking in the hunting district HS Kalec, county Plzeň-sever (Pilsen-North), located in the western part of the Czech Republic. The first part of this thesis describes Roe Deer (Capreolus Capreolus), its population in this territory, biology, ethology and its management. The second part describes the project as such involving three model testing areas that were selected and marked out in the hunting district HS Kalec; before the haymaking time from June 15 to June 24, 2015, adequate protection measures were undertaken in these areas. Locality of the first model testing area number 1 was attended (walked) by gamekeepers with dogs. Locality of the second model testing area number 2 was treated with the game scent repeller and also equipped with acoustic disturber. The third model testing area number 3 was only monitored. These model testing areas were re-visited after hay crop and the result is that in the vicinity of the model testing area number 3 two fawns were cut and killed. In both other model testing areas no cut fawns were found. After hay crop and subsequent determining the actual number of cut fawns, these testing areas were compared mutually and the results will be stated in this thesis for the bachelors degree. The essential aspect was to evaluate the fawns mortality in the specific hunting district based on the obtained facts. Relation to the mitigation measures set in place was examined. This work resulted in saving three fawns. Outcomes of this thesis have provided rather interesting findings that can be further exploited in the gamekeeping management. Particularly in relation to the roe deer management in the gamekeeping practice. Keywords/tags: roe deer, fawns, killing, hunting district (HS Kalec, Žihle)
Evaluation of roe deer losses during meadow harvests in hunting area Medard
Dvořák, Jakub ; Kušta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mrkvičková Kořanová, Diana (referee)
Evaluation of loss of young roe deer during haymaking in the Medard hunting district This bachelor´s work is focused on the evaluation of loss of young roe deer during spring haymaking. It is divided into two parts. The first part covers general information on roe deer with main emphasize on life of youngers during first weeks after their birth. This period is typical for spring haymaking. The second part describes specific results of field observations including size of area, type of weather before and after haymaking, location of area with respect to forest cover, suggested ways of protections and comparison of their advantages and disadvantages. Using several different ways of protections of young roe deer killings during haymaking I realized that to find a right and the most efficient one is a long-term task, however based on the results of my observations I consider walking through meadows as very efficient means of young roe deer protection.
Zhodnocení úrovně reprodukce králíků v podmínkách středně velkého chovu
Tesařová, Zuzana
Thesis is focused on assessing the reproduction levels of rabbits in middle-sized extensive holdings. For statistical analysis were used breeds Dwarf Teddy (unrecognized breed), Hermelin, Netherland Dwarf and Dwarf Lop. Factors influencing the litter count, fertilization, gestation length, count of rabbits born and reared and male-to-female ratio of young rabbits. Highly significant values were reported for variance in born and reared counts for Hermelin and Netherland Dwarf breeds, while after categorizing into quality groups was concluded that higher-weight and lower-exterior-quality doe reach statistically highly-significant differences in born-and-reared youngling count. Furthermore, the used breeding technology and litter order influence on reproductive indexes was evaluated.
