The introduction is a short treatise on the subject of death, followed by the topic of stillborn children regarded from the viewpoint of of human dignity, and an insight into the theory of social work and the role of the (psycho) social worker. The problem of burnout syndrome in the helping professions is also mentioned. The subsequent chapters describe the situation of mothers before and after finding out about the child's death. It is followed by a detailed introduction of criteria for the research conducted both by the qualitative and quantitative form and is supplemented by casuistry. Everything is summarised and put into context in the ensuing discussion, and more generally summarised in the conclusion of the whole work which demonstrated the need for expert-recommended possibilities of psychosocial assistance to parents in perinatal loss (naming the child, physical contact of parents with the child, getting of objects commemorating the child, funeral - farewell to the child, information about the burial site of the child). The work also pointed out the appropriateness of including a psychosocial worker in the multidisciplinary team in healthcare facilities. The contribution of this work is the possibility of its practical use as an aid in healthcare facilities where perinatal deaths occur.
