Changes in conception of film fairy tales

The current generation of children consume more medial contents through television and movies than ever before. Many classical literature works are adapted in this way, although they have to correspond with preferences of audience and with socio-cultural values which shows the different view at the same topic subsequently mediated to the youngest audience. This thesis acquaints with history of fairy-tales genre and its various forms. In view of target audience of this production, thesis concentrates with the effect of content and media devices on children audience in theoretical part. Simultaneously the thesis efforts to popularity of cinematized fairy-tales in Czech environment. Practical part analyzes two film adaptations of the same fairy-tale's theme and efforts to point out to the differences in creative conception and values, which these movies represent. The goal of this thesis is to prove the changing views on the classical themes in the course of time the influence of the contemporary ideas and imaginations of the society on the adaptation for children.
Body image - struggle for a new body

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of body image the question of physical self-perception. In the theoretical part, I summarize the existing findings in this field, with focus on non-clinical population, and I specify the body image from the aspect of forming factors, such as gender, age, socio-cultural background, sexual orientation or important other people. Moreover, I describe it in the context of effect of society and media influence, internet and social networks. In the thesis I also deal with a negative perception of body image with its influence on individual's life and I put it into contrast with the meaning of positive perception. In the conclusion I mention the possibilities of measuring the body image by means of subjective and objective methods of evaluation. The empirical part is devoted to research, which aim is the description of possible risk influence of social networks, particularly of Facebook, on the body image of an individual, through content analysis of posts in a group called "Struggle for a new body".
Medial portrayal of single parents in daily press

The aim of the thesis was to investigate how single parents is presented in daily press. Single parents is an important today social problem so I find this as an important research field. The media have the power to influence our thoughts and opinions. I wonder who has the opportunity to comment in the media, what the distribution of individual information sources are and who talks about this (laymen, sociologist, psychologists or representatives of various organizations). The research was conducted through quantitative and qualitative content analysis. This thesis focuses on the differences between people who talks about single parents and also tries to point out how "single mother" is displayed by media and what it means for us.
