Design of erosion and flood control measures contributing to water retention increasing in the landscape
Krátký, Jindřich ; Uhrová,, Jana (referee) ; Sobotková, Veronika (advisor)
The introduction of this bachelor’s thesis is focused on analyzing the territory of interest – the cadastral area of the municipality of Vevčice in the South Moravian Region of Czechia. Using ArcMap, USLE2D and DesQ-MaxQ software, the erosion and runoff conditions are evaluated, including the determination of the so-called critical profiles, where the concentrated surface runoff and sediments are currently posing a threat to the built-up area. On the basis of the analyses carried out, erosion and flood control measures have been designed. The measures should ensure the reduction of the average soil loss on agricultural land to permissible values, minimization of peak flows and protection of the inhabitants of Vevčice and their properties. Concurrently, the measures should contribute to water retention in the landscape. Furthermore, locations where the construction of small waterbodies such as a small reservoir, pond or wetland could be considered in the future, positively impacting the retention capacity of the local landscape, have been identified in the area of concern.
Identification of suitable places for retaining water in the landscape in the landscape in watersheds of the fourth order in the Trkmanka watershed
Valný, Patrik ; Larišová, Lucie (referee) ; Sobotková, Veronika (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the identification of suitable places for water retention in the landscape. The evaluated area consists of three selected catchments of the 4th order in the Trkmanka River basin in the South Moravian Region. In the first part of the work the analysis of the area of interest was carried out. Using ArcGIS, USLE2D and DesQ – MaxQ software, erosion and runoff conditions were evaluated to determine the critical points and critical profiles threatening the intravilanias of the municipalities by surface runoff and sediments. Also, the locations of the final profiles that threaten, for example, local roads were identified, these were then subjected to a field survey and photodocumentation was taken. Subsequently, small reservoirs were designed at the assessed and morphologically suitable locations. Finally, from the evaluated erosion and runoff data, a ranking of vulnerability was established.
Water areas localization in landscape as adaptation measures to eliminate climatic extremes
Mokrejš, Filip ; Moravcová,, Aneta (referee) ; Sobotková, Veronika (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the cadastral area of the municipality of Čejkovice concerning erosion and runoff conditions. ArcMap and USLE2D programs were used to evaluate erosion conditions. The determination of runoff characteristics was preceded by the identification of critical profiles, for which the calculation was subsequently performed in the DesQ-MaxQ program. Based on the evaluation, suitable erosion control measures were proposed, and the post-design condition was evaluated. Finally, the work focuses on small water bodies. Using the available literature, recommendation criteria for the selection of locations for small water bodies were established and a selection of suitable sites in the area of interest was made. The selected sites were developed into details of documentation for planning permission.
