Economic analysis of moon phases on human behaviour
Klečková, Tereza ; Strielkowski, Wadim (advisor) ; Lelovská, Adriána (referee)
The moon and its lunar cycle is a theme that occurs in society since time immemorial. Does lunar cycle affect human life including its economic and social aspects? Do ordinary people and managers of large corporations act differently when the moon is full? Does consumer behavior change? Is at the time of the full moon rising crime and accidents? Can the effect of month on human behavior be scientifically tested? Although the above -mentioned topic may seem a bit bizarre I decided to process it in my thesis. Nowadays is popularization of science very important and widely used by for example the leading economic faculties of leading universities in the USA and the UK. This work attempts to answer the above questions and test the above mentioned context by using econometric methods. In this work we can read about the moon and myths and legends which are bind to it. The thesis presents several studies that have addressed the topic before, and their results. And then it will analyze available data from three basic areas of human behavior - crime, healthcare and business. The results which I reached are interesting and significantly confirm the influence of the lunar cycle in two of three selected aspects of human behavior - health and trade.

Zlámal, Jan
Jan Zlámal: Moon wood properties Bachelor thesis, Mendel University in Brno, 2017. 36 pages. This thesis summons the knowledge about the moon wood especially about its physical and mechanical properties. It compars the results of scientifical studies and experiments which were so far performed. So this thesis contains general knowledge about moon wood topic and chapters sorted according wood properties based on real experiments with moon influence on wood. The monitored properties are humidity, density, dimension changes, compression strength, combustibility and resistence. The most commonly observed tree species were Norway Spruce (Picea abies L. Karst) and Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.). The thesis also gives the overview of examined hypothesis, methodology of the experiments, time periods etc. This compilation can serve as a base for following experimental research.

Spring migration of amphibians in relation to the lunar cycle
Michalcová, Pavlína ; Kopecký, Oldřich (advisor) ; Vojar, Jiří (referee)
Spring migration of amphibians is often studied phenomenon. Individuals who wake up in the spring after winter hibernation leave their winter shelters and move into nearby water reservoirs to mate here. While the course of the reproduction is well documented a terrestrial stage of amphibian life cycle is poorly known. This work deals with the influence of exogenous factors on spring migration of alpine newt Ichthyosaura alpestris (Laurenti 1768) (formerly Mesotriton alpestris, Triturus alpestris) and is especially focused on the lunar cycle. The null hypothesis was formulated as follows: The number of newts arriving into the water reservoir during the spring migration is independent on the phase of the lunar cycle. Spring migration of alpine newts was monitored during two years at two localities. Males on location Čachnov mostly migrated on 25th day of the lunar cycle while females on this location mostly migrated on 26th day of the lunar cycle. Males on the location Hylváty mostly migrated on 21st day of the lunar cycle while females migrated evenly throughout the entire cycle. Based on obtained data it can be assumed that there is a correlation between the number of migrating individuals and the lunar cycle. Probably the main reason for this is the intensity of light reaching the earth´s surface which makes it easier for amphibians to navigate during the spring migration.
