The Study Efficiency of Utilization of Workplacess in Selected Operation

This thesis deals with the analysis of data obtained by observing and measuring workplaces of assembly lines with a focus on the efficiency of their utilization, through selected elements of industrial engineering, which the reader can get acquainted with in the theoretical part of the thesis. In this thesis the line productivity during the shifts is analyzed, an ideal line balancing condition is defined and suggestion for changing the time of line consumption norm according to the measured line cycle time is made. According to the complex analyzes of the workplaces, suggestions are concluded and an economic appreciation of these proposals is also elaborated. The author of this thesis finds the main benefit of this work in increasing of the productivity of the analyzed line in the case of implementation of solution designs.

Optimization of manufacturing process in a selected company

This thesis is primary focused on optimization of the production process in a selected company.Teoretical part of this thesis is the result of literature research of Lean Six Sigma, which is mostly used by the company. It is a brief insight to an issue and introduction of the most often used tools from Lean Six Sigma methodology, which were used afterwards in practical part of this thesis. Also there is an introduction of the company and its production portfolio. Crucial part of this thesis is it‘s practical part focused on improving of current situation on the production line with an economical and technical assessment. The main goal was to create more compact and smaller area of product line with lower work in progress.

Object of thesis is to orientate in lean production and apply its individual methods on workplace. First part of thesis is dealing with theoretical preparation, understanding lean production and methods of lean production. Second part is dealing with analyzing production processes, application of methods of lean production and designing workplaces.

The first part of the thesis has a form of study of individual methods. The next part is shortly about the company and optic cable manufacturing process. The second part of thesis contain measuring, analyzing and finally optimization of the examine process. In conclusion are evaluated gained results and financial savings.
