New Methods of Cross-linking of Humic Substances
Lepíková, Jana ; Sedláček, Petr (referee) ; Kalina, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis was focused on the study of crosslinking of humic substances. The main aim of this work was to find and optimize utilization of new crosslinking agents for humic acids. Commercial product – lignohumate – was also used in the work as comparative sample. Two groups of crosslinking agents were studied in this work – multivalent metals (CaCl2, MgCl2) and citric acid. In all cases the studied hydrogels were cross-linked by means of chemical valences. All prepared hydrogels were characterized using the determination of their inner pH, density and concent of dry matter. The process of aging of hydrogels – syneresis – was also studied. The main experimental method applied for hydrogels characterization was rheology. Prepared hydrogels represent interesting materials for following studies and also for possible future practical applications.
Characterization of polyelectrolyte complexes using structural and thermal analysis
Řiháčková, Barbora ; Smilek, Jiří (referee) ; Krouská, Jitka (advisor)
This master thesis deals with study of chitosan-lignohumate, chitosan-polystyrenesulfonate, chitosan-alginate and chitosan-carrageenan polyelectrolyte complexes. The work was motivated by research of finding suitable alternative substance for lignohumate. The molecular weights of substances were characterized using SEC-MALLS. A degree and a character of the interactions between polyelectrolyte were studied by isothermal titration calorimetry and dynamic light scattering method. The calorimetric experiments proved that decreasing concentration of samples causes decreasing of heat flow. The best calorimetric measurements were provided by adding chitosan into polymer solution. The interactions between chitosan and polyanions and influence of mixing order were proved also by measuring intensity of zeta potential, Z-average of particle size and turbidity. New chitosan-based materials have a big potential in agriculture and medicine.

Vliv aplikace lignohumátů na mineralizaci dusíku a fosforu v půdě: komerčně produkovaný výrobek a jeho užití v arboristické praxi
Luterová, Anna
This thesis is focused on the assessment of a lignohumate application influence on nitrogen and phosphorus mineralization in urban soils. Specifically the experiment setup is based on lignohumate product, commercially manufactured by Amagro company. The major aim of this thesis is study of analytic techniques for assessing decomposition and mineralization rates of soil phosphorus and nitrogen and conduct laboratory testing of lignohumate treatment effects. Soil samples for laboratory analyses were collected from the Az (Ad) horizons of urban soils as selected sites in Brno. Subsequently, the results of analyses were processed and evaluated, results were expressed in forms of graphs and tables.
