Kuklínková, Klára ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
Diploma thesis of was preceded by a specialized studio focused on the development of urban-architectural design in the area of "Vsetín - Ohrada". The newly created objects have the a task of transform the whole territory, which nowadays deteriorate. The solved area is separated by the highest industrial zone from the edge of the city and after the connection to the urban area. The whole sports complex is conceived as an independent urban complex, mainly linked to the surrounding nature. These are cycle paths that are designed for the entire area. The center is designed for the needs of the population of Vsetín and its catchment areas. Sports, recreational options for all ages. The grassy wall divides the river from the city and reflects the calm zone by the river, and at the same time divides large flat areas. In addition to sports, the area offers wellness, gastro and meeting places. The advantage of this place is cycling trail parallel to the beautiful nature. Moreover, the grassy wall is used to hide service roads and parking spaces. This ensures excellent transport accessibility and supply, but does not interfere with the sports complex. Wall created from excavations of single buildings and demolition works of the original stadium will achieve a safe transition from one sports ground to another, creating a natural observation post and incorporating buildings and sports facilities to become part of the wall and form a single unit. By embedding buildings in the wall, the buildings visually diminish. The embedded sports ground is bounded on two sides by a rampart and the third by a staircase. It can be used as a grandstand, or to enter the ridge of the dike. This minimizes the need for unsightly fencing on each pitch. With the new concept we will meet the requirements of visitors in the given locality and, above all, the attractiveness of the whole area will be increased.
The Restoration of the Former Zlín County Court
Gebhardt, Tomáš ; Blažková, Vendula (referee) ; Myslín, Jiří (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the former court building in Zlín. It is the second oldest structure in the city, situated at the crossroads of the streets Bartošova and Soudní, next to a park. It is not only located in the geographical center of the city, but also the at the confluence of the most frequented routes leading to shopping centers, transportation hubs, university buildings, etc. Unfortunately, the building intersects the park and interrupts its clear boundaries. The vicinity is abundant with public spaces, which, aside from Gahura’s prospect, are mostly unpopular, thanks to their unsuitable design and absence of necessary facilities. The design attempts to turn the building into a facility of the park – a café, public toilets and an interesting public space. The park’s boundaries are sealed with the new building of an open-air cinema. The corner of the streets is improved by the much-needed parterre, including a new lawn which creates a natural border of the park. This space is also used as an entrance to the underground parking lot and the main entrance to the open-air cinema. Further, there is a new cube-shaped four-storey extension to the building which contains a new staircase and necessary sanitation rooms. The extension is designed so that it doesn’t undermine the dominance of the court building itself, and presents itself in an inferior manner. The design keeps in mind the original façade and expression of the building, including the shape and slope of the roofs. The parking lot is moved from in front of the building under the new open-air cinema, to clear up the parterre and make it more representative.

What is the difference between determinants of ticket demand at an open air cinema and multiplex cinemas?
Knittelová, Tereza ; Lahvička, Jiří (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis identifies the determinants of the demand of an open air cinema. As a basis, data from the open air cinema Širák in the years 2010 -- 2013 has been used. It has been shown, that open air cinema's price elasticity of attendance demand is roughly unit elastic thus it maximizes its revenue from sold tickets. In comparison a multiplex cinema does not maximize its revenue from sold tickets and its price elasticity of attendance demand is inelastic. As a result of this thesis it has been found that visitors of an open air cinema are almost unaffected by movie genre in their decision to visit the open air cinema. However this is not the case for visitors of a multiplex. Visitors of either cinema prefer Czech movies over foreign ones. The attendance of the open air cinema is highly influenced by the weather.
