Employability of graduates of the University of Economics, Prague and their quality assessment of acquired higher education
Dejl, Lukáš ; Vltavská, Kristýna (advisor) ; Hulík, Vladimír (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the employability of graduates of the University of Economics, Prague (UE) and their quality assessment of acquired higher education based on REFLEX 2013 survey. The first part of this thesis is focused on theoretical concepts and statistical methods that are subsequently used in analytical part. The analytical part contains analysis of UE graduates employability and the quality assessment of acquired higher education. The aim of this diploma thesis is to provide answers on whether there is a relationship between studied faculty and job classification or which factors affect the monthly wage level using the multidimensional statistical methods. The thesis also deals with the graduates evaluation of acquired knowledge applicability and practical usability in future career.
Impact of the Regional Labels on Regional Develepment in Vysočina Region
Chalupová, Martina ; Lošťák, Michal (advisor) ; Zagata, Lukáš (referee)
The dissertation thesis is focused on regional food labelling schemes in Vysočina Region and their impact on regional development, from the consumers perspective. Chosen economic and social aspects were analysed: the quality and content of the information on the regional labels in media, preference of regional food among inhabitants of Vysočina Region, their regional food preferences and awareness of regional labels. The research was conducted in two phases. Content analysis of media aimed to analyse media presence and occurance of the characteristics attached to each regional label: VYSOČINA Regional Product and Regional Food Vysočina Region. The other research had quantitative design and aimed to determine level of awareness of the labels among Vysočina inhabitants. To test the ability of respondents from Vysočina Region to recognise and differentiate the labels, the author created non existent label From Our Region Vysočina. Media analysis of the Vysočina regional labels revealed that media may help build awareness about the labels as they have been informing about them continuously, but they emphasise that these labels signal above all quality and origin, diminishing special connection with the region and its tradition. The research of regional labels awareness showed that respondents do not pay attention to the labels as almost 24% of 819 respondents claimed they had already seen non-existent label. This could be a viewed as a sign of the food labels inflation with their rising number and very low differentiation it is impossible for the conumers to differentiate them and also that people do not pay attention to them. Further analysis confirmed that respondents preferences and views on the regional labels from the Vysočina districts differ.
Methods of analysing multivariate contingency tables
Šulc, Zdeněk ; Pecáková, Iva (advisor) ; Coufalová, Petra (referee)
This thesis occupies with a relationship of two significant methods of analyzing multivariate contingency tables, namely correspondence analysis and loglinear models. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first one is dedicated to basic terms of categorical data analysis, mainly to contingency tables and their distributions. Primarily, the emphasis is placed on their multidimensional form. The second part presents tools and techniques of both methods in a scope needed for their practical use and interpretation of their results. A practical application of both methods is included in the third part which is presented on the data from a market research. This part describes settings for both analyses in a statistical software SPSS and the subsequent interpretation of their outputs. A comparison of analyzed methods in terms of their use can be found in the conclusion.
Use of correspondence analysis in marketing
TONDLOVÁ, Kateřina
At first for my bachelor thesis was conducted my own marketing research, which was focused on mobile phones. Respondents filled the questionnaire, which was previously created for this purpose. With this marketing research, I received information about what people expect from mobile phones, according to what type of the mobile phones are bought, how much money on mobile services and mobile devices are spent, which mobile operators are using and much more. Individual users of mobile phones were placed into groups either by age, occupation, income or any other character. Then I tried using correspondence analysis to determine whether there is any relationship between these groups and other features, such as how much money pay per call, what they expect from mobile phones, which operator they have, which brand of mobile phone are using, etc. With correspondence analysis, I have investigated the mutual dependence of the results, which were obtained in my own marketing research. Based on the results of correspondence analysis, I was able to recommend to mobile operators and manufacturers of mobile phones, on which user groups should focus on. Mobile phone manufacturers will be able, thanks to the recommendation, to improve the features and functionality of its products strictly according to customer requirements and might even increase sales of their products. When would be the mobile operators focus on those target groups that are based on the results of my work for them the key, they could then create a better and cheaper fares for these target groups. This could get affection of such groups and thus gain new users for its mobile network. When would these manufacturers and mobile operators to preserve in my recommendation, they could also save costs of mobile users for mobile services due to cheaper and better fares. Furthermore, the mobile phones should have their exact functions and features, which are required from them. This would be on the market of mobile phones and service satisfaction on both the supply and demand.
Correspondence analysis application in MS Excel program
Ganajová, Michaela ; Řezanková, Hana (advisor) ; Pecáková, Iva (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis was to create independently an application, automating a correspondence analysis calculation using MS Excel and taking advantage of VBA programming language. The application was then used to analyse Slovak banking sector. The created application is based on macro sets which can be split up to two parts. The first part produces a contingency table and converts it into a format usable in the second part. Then there is executed the Correspondence Analysis calculation itself. Supplement Matrix is being used, that allows to discharge functions from matrix and linear algebra. The application allows to process any matrix dimension. Dialog window offers four normalization types, shortened and also full output and it is possible to display row or column variable categories, eventually both. The analysis subject was to find out which of the products are typical for considered banks and for which clients, divided into age categories, is attractive particular bank and/or product. A starting point is a product usage data matrix at a particular bank. There was made a conclusion, that it is possible to divide banks into more traditional or modern type institutions and also that each bank has a typical product.
Correspondence analysis
Konrádová, Lucie ; Hebák, Petr (advisor) ; Plašil, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to introduce statistical method called Correspondence analysis as a strong instrument for exploratory data analysis. The main purpose is to understand how to interpret the correspondence map, the graphical output of this method, correctly. The method is presented both in its simple version, and its extension to multivariate data. Usage of method is demonstrated on data of non-financial subjects of Czech republic, which are entered in the register of economic subjects.
