Impact of the FTA between EU and South Korea on the Czech Republic

In this thesis we study the effect of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between European Union and South Korea, especially on the Czech Republic. To do so, we use gravity model. We specify three different gravity equations, each with a different set of fixed effects, and apply two estimation methods on them: Fixed Effects and Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood. Apart from this, we also use traditional indicators (Herfindahl and RCA indices) to assess the changes in trade. The results of the gravity model estimations suggest that the FTA did not have a significant impact on the bilateral trade. However, trade diversification analysis using the Herfindahl index and comparative advantage analysis using the RCA index both indicate that the bilateral trade between the Czech Republic and South Korea improved with the FTA in place.

Competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in selected sector

This thesis evaluates the current status of the small and medium-sized enterprises in the brewing industry in terms of competitiveness and their market position. It reviews the effectiveness and possibilities for further development of two companies in the Pilsen region which belong to the category of small and medium-sized enterprises - the restaurant breweries: Lukrecius a.s. and Akciový pivovar Letiny a.s.
Small and meidum-sized enterprises have lower economic strength compared to large businesses. Another problem that affects almost all enterprises in The Czech Republic since the middle of the year 2016 is the shortage of staff. Even the restaurant breweries are affected by these problems.
Small breweries have been developing fast since 2013. About 50 new small breweries are founded every year. To become competitive, the breweries must have a certain competitive advantage so they need to know their strengths and weaknesses and above all, they must know the business environment in their area. The companies are usually very closesly connected with the region where they operate.

Dynamika komparativních výhod českého exportu ve srovnání se státy EU

With the progression globalization, the connection of single national economies is widening. Especially, thanks to liberalization, free movement of goods and services and the openness of our economy an effort to the involvement of international relations is a crucial importance. International trade allows more efficient allocation of resources at the international level for some groups of products and obtaining comparative advantages in the international trade. The data analysed in this thesis come from the website of the Statistical Office of the Czech Republic and Eurostat. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the dynamics of comparative advantages of the Czech economy in terms of export some groups of products according to the classification SITC1 compared to the countries of the European Union (EU27) using Balassa and Dalum index of specialization and regression analysis.

Zahraniční obchod Číny s vybranými zeměni EU

The aim of this thesis is the identification of main factors that determines the structure and character of international trade with goods among China and se-lected countries of the European Union which are Czech republic, Kingdom of the Netherlands and Kingdom of Sweden. The introductory part describes various rea-sons that make countries participate in international trade and describes factors that influence the trade. Subsequently, the paper is focused on analysis of com-modity structure of trade of the mentioned countries and factor intensity analysis. Based on the results of these analysis the main factors that determine the bilateral flow of goods between China and each one of the selected countries, are identified. As a result of this paper we can conclude that the main factors that determine the trade are comparative advantages of the countries. We can distinguish between qualitative comparative advantage that is typical for countries of the European union or cost-based comparative advantage typical for China.

Analýza Fair Trade jako tržního nástroje řešení chudoby obyvatel třetího světa

Hnutí Fair Trade v podobě ve které se objevuje dnes existuje ve světě od 60. let minulého století. Základní cíl, které si toto hnutí stanoví, je zlepšení podmínek producentů třetího světa, kteří jsou podle stoupenců FT hnutí na mezinárodních trzích znevýhodněni. Prostředkem, k tomuto cíli je existence férové ceny, za kterou FT obchodníci tyto plodiny a výrobky vykupují.?Hnutí Fair Trade je stále předmětem diskusí. Tato práce by se měla věnovat rozboru argumentace pro i proti a v závěru zhodnotit jednotlivá stanoviska a přiklonit se k jednomu z nich.

Vývoj komparativních výhod české ekonomiky v letech 1993 - 2006

Cílem této práce je analyzovat vývoj komparativních výhod České republiky v letech 1993-2006 při měnících se ekonomických podmínkách a přechodu české ekonomiky z centrálně plánované na tržní systém. První část práce je věnována některým teoriím mezinárodního obchodu jako např. teorii absolutních výhod, komparativních výhod a metodám jejich výpočtu a z moderních teorií např. teorii vnitroodvětvového obchodu. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na analýzu českého zahraničního obchodu a především komparativních výhod. Jsou zde popsány změny komparativních výhod v jednotlivých obdobích a vnější a vnitřní vlivy, které mohly na tyto změny mít vliv.

Investiční pobídky v Irské republice a jejich zhodnocení

Práce se zabývá vývojem politiky investičních pobídek v Irské republice v období od 70. let 20. století do současnosti. Shrnuje opatření, která byla v rámci politiky investičních pobídek učiněna a způsoby, kterými docházelo k jejich modifikaci.Práce se též věnuje komparativním výhodám a ekonomickým faktorům, které zapříčily a ovlivnily objem přílivu přímých zahraničních investic do Irska a charakterizuje samotnou strukturu zahraničních investorů. Dále se práce zabývá charakterem přímých zahraničních investic realizovaných v Irsku. Práce též hodnotí úspěšnost zaváděných opatření na podporu přílivu zahraničních investic tj. hodnotí úspěšnost investičních pobídek zaváděných v Irské republice.
