William Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk. Lifeway to the window of Prague Castle and from there to glory

The main topic of the thesis is William Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk. The most important information about his life and career in many significant provincial and royal offices is summarized at the beginning of my thesis, which is divided into five chapters. The third chapter, which follows after the introduction, list of sources of literature and explanation of key terms, describes the development of a prominent clan of Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk, whose origins according to the oldest historical sources can be traced back to the turn of the 11th century. Moreover, I linked the history of Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk clan with geographical context by adding detailed description of clan residences in the Kingdom of Bohemia. The fourth chapter deals with Vilém Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk himself, illustrating the everyday life of a high nobility representative. The fifth chapter gives information on the picture depicting the life of Count Vilem Slavata as well as other important events of this era in art.

This bachelor thesis deals with the ways of Czech noblemen in England at the turn of the 16th and the 17th centuries. The thesis contains a general summary of traveling during the early modern period. It is based on analysis of the personal sources, which are a travel diaries. In the central part of thesis we deal with more specific trip issues, as were arrivals and departures to the country and from the country, an English company and the royal court, including his ceremonies, celebrations and pastimes, dress, dining or communication, visit secular and church buildings, educational and other institutions. The thesis consist of seven chapters, the introduction and conclusion.

The Autograph Book of Jakub Popovicky from Popovice (1576-1676)

This bachelor thesis "The Autograph Book of Jakub Popovicky from Popovice (1576-1676)" is dealing with the student´s autograph book from the age of early modern times. The main aim is to analyse the autograph book, to create the critical edition and to set the autograph book in the context of 16th century and the university environment. Besides this, the thesis introduces the circle of Jakub Popovicky´s friends. It also focuses on general characteristics of autograph books and their connection to printed books. This thesis includes attachments with samples of records and illustrations, the list of recorded people, the list of authors of quotations and the table showing the Jakub Popovicky´s itinerary.
