Understanding of idea of equations in grade 4 and 5 in primary school

The diploma thesis deals with how 4th and 5th grade students understand and solve equations. It examines errors in their solutions and suggests possibilities for reeducation. In the theoretical part, it explains main concepts such as equality and equation. It seeks to anchor the issue of equations in the RVP and searches for tasks suitable for the propaedeutics of equations in textbooks from three publishers for the 1st stage of primary school. The experimental part contains the methodology of creating a pre-experiment and summarizes the reasons for creating the final experiment. It describes students solutions to selected tasks, searches for errors, and tries to determine a suitable form of reeducation.
