Open Compositional Creation. Unbounded Possibilities of Inspiration with the Help of Computer

In the present paper, the author shares his experience in the field of compositional creation which integrates a whole range of stylistic and genre material, as well as essentially non-musical material. The topic of the so called open compositional creation is restricted by the use of computer within the compositional process and/or at the performance of the piece. The author´s creative starting points and experience are supported by an outline of the historical and cultural context, a short characteristic of computer technologies and specific examples from the author´s own work as well as the work of other composers.

The main focus of the diploma thesis is on the greatest and most famous violin solos. Lives of their authors are mentioned and their works are viewed within their historical perspective. Some technical and interpretational problems of the solos are introduced and examined.
Jean-Pierre Rampal and Czechoslovakia

This master's thesis captures Jaen-Pierre Rampal not only as a highly recognized flutist. It also provides an overview of his musical and pedagogical refinement of opinions and experience gained during his life. The major part of this work focuses on the relationship of Jean-Pierra Rampal to Czechoslovakia and to personalities linked to him. In the first two parts which are necessary for the overall understanding of his personality, I describe in detail the music activity of Jean-Pierre Rampal, his biography, educational activities, flute brands he preferred and his relationship to baroque music. In conclusion, I mentioned a few memories of Jean-Pierre Rampal his friends and colleagues and also outlined the activities of the Association Jean-Pierre Rampal and his discography.

This master´ s thesis aims to familiarize the reader with a rare personality of Czech music, composer and musicologist Zdeněk Šesták. Of his work is here most elaborated his Concerto for Viola and Orchestra "Sokratovské meditace? with the analysis of individual phrases and examples of sheet music, solo part and from the score. The work includes also other Czech composers, representatives of approximately the same generation as Mr. Šesták, but often completely different creative principles. The mainconnecting element is Viola concertanto works - concertos, sonatas, songs, or nontraditional pieces, where this instrument dominates.
Self-concept of conservatory student

The thesis deals with self-concept of conservatory students. The theoretical part describes contemporary theories of self-concept and defines the approach to the procedural and structural Self. In the practical part are implemented depth interviews with conservatory students and their content analysis in relation to Higgins self-discrepancy theory. The aim of this thesis is primarily to determine the relationship of the actual Self with the ideal Self and ought Self and how are these three types of Self (Self-domains) perceived by conservatory students.
Underground music - subculture of young people in Prague in 1968 - 1989

The work deals with the mapping of underground cultural phenomenon in the Czechoslovak normalization environment. Especially arising subculture within the band The Plastic People of the Universe. Described is a brief history of the band, its sources of inspiration, lyrics and music. The next section focuses on the persecution of the regime and the subsequent wave of solidarity from the Czech intellectuals and dissidents, which substantially contributed to the formation of Charter 77.
Music As A Sign

The thesis is interested in the problem of musical sign. In which ways can we speak about musical sign and which elements of musical material can become signs? These are the basic questions which we are interested in. This thesis is divided into three parts. The first part attends to the common theory of sign. The historical survey with the main ideas of philosophers and thinkers will be helpful to find out basic terms and problems of semiotics. In the second part of thesis we look at the historical reflection of musical sign in order to find out in which way it was treated with music and musical sign in each historical period of European music. In the third part we focus on musical semiotics, but we will consider some problems of musical aesthetics and musical psychology, too. In the end we make recapitulation of answers to the aforesaid questions.
Practice of children choir at summer camp using the opportunity for creativity and creative talent

The thesis is focused on the definition of music, children choir, gift for music, abilities and creativity, as well as summer camps and definition of primary and secondary school age. The aim of summer camp is to improve singing and music techniques, the next aim is to support the development of creative talent and creativity which can be done by playing, evening programmes which intent on singing activities are important as well.
Musicotherapy in elderly people

This bachelor thesis investigates the influence and the effect of musicotherapy treatment method in the elderly. Method was used at the St. Anežka?s retirement home in Velký Újezd and also at the Retirement home in Budíškovice. The aim of this thesis is to find out if seniors utilise this method and in which form is it realized. The theoretical part is devoted to the forms, directions and types of the therapy and to the seniors themselves, their roles, needs and adaptations. Furthermore senior facilities, therapists and their profession are described in the theoretical part. The practical part consists of respondent case reports which were obtained by standardized personal interviews. The results are compared with data from available literature.
