Hlaváč, Vlastislav ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Kotíková, Jaromíra (referee)
Résumé This thesis focuses on the implementation of the active employment policy in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany and in particular its use of a time when the labour market is negatively affected by the effects of the economic recession. Financial support provided to employers to create or maintain jobs proved to be crucial, confirming the model used in the Federal Republic of Germany. The analysis of tre nds in the labour market shows increasing importance of implementing active employment policy, which both lead to job creation, but the activation of unemployed persons. The findings of this thesis stems can be applied throughout the Czech Republic. Some m easures to increase employment can be implemented without significant interference, in a change in methodology, but some must be implemented on the basis of political acceptability.
The Macroeconomic Impacts of the Selected Oil Shocks in the United States of America
Šikulová, Markéta ; Johnson, Zdenka (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
The aim of this study is to analyze macroeconomic impacts of four selected oil shocks on the United States economy and their subsequent comparison. The first part of this study deals with the theoretical background of supply shock, its influence on the economy, and the possible responses of economic policy. Furthermore, in the first part I focus on the historical events that led to the oil crisis, specifically on the OPEC oil embargo imposed on the United States, production cuts caused by the Iranian revolution, Iran-Iraq War and Persian Gulf War and on the demand as well as the supply factors that led to the oil shock of 2007-2008. The second part of this study presents the specific impacts of four selected oil shocks on the US economy and their comparison. Based on the findings, it was possible to confirm the hypothesis saying that past oil shocks, especially those that took place in the 1970's, had more negative impacts on the United States economy in comparison with those that happened more recently. In other words, that the effects of changes in oil prices have lessened over time. There are many reasons of this moderation, but the most important ones include more effective monetary policy response, the decrease in wage rigidities, and more recently also the decline of United States dependency on imported oil.

In the first part, the work points out the general causes of the financial crisis. It also describes its influence on the economy of Czech republic and associated revenues of the state budget. On the example of Prague's and selected regional theatres, the paper tries to define the impacts of the economic recession, and describes methods how theatres are dealing with an unfavourable situation. One part of the thesis consists of a questionnaire survey carried out among the representatives of theatre subjects, as well as among the audiences. The work deliberately avoids comparisons with the impacts of the financial crisis on other theatres in other countries, as the conditions of their existence are diametrically opposed, regardless of the crisis.
