Differences and specifics of general and specialized home hospice care

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of specialized hospice care and home health care. It describes hospice care, conditions of its provision, briefly characterizes the development of palliative and hospice care in the world and in the Czech Republic. The role of the multidisciplinary team in hospice care is discussed in more detail. The current legal regulation of the provision of specialized hospice care and home health care is described. The concept of specialized hospice care is illustrated on the example of the Home hospice St. Veronica in České Budějovice. Attention is paid mainly to comparison of specialized hospice care and home health care, with reference to the shortcomings of home health care, which in the present concept cannot be conceived as a full substitute or alternative to specialized hospice care. The main findings and findings are summarized at the end of the thesis.
The needs of vulnerable older people in home health care

The present dissertation, which focuses on the needs of particularly vulnerable older people in home health care, was written within the framework of the PhD study in Longevity at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University and was carried out as part of the project supported by the Charles University Grant Agency "Met and Unmet Needs of Particularly Vulnerable Older Patients in Home and Inpatient Care" (GA UK No. 760219). The overall aim of the three researcher project, where I was the research coordinator, was to clarify the needs of particularly vulnerable older patients in both home health care and inpatient care, including the needs of patients living with dementia. The aim of this dissertation was to identify the needs of vulnerable older patients in home health care. This dissertation consists of four papers. At the time of writing, two articles had been published in peer-reviewed journals and two articles were under review. The thesis has chapters in the introduction and conclusion that set the professional articles in context, creating a comprehensive view of the needs of particularly vulnerable older people in home health care. Social care in conjunction with home care as public interest and basic pillar of elderly care in Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the security system care services and other related services, including informal care for seniors in the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is to evaluate, describe and offer a closer understanding of nursing as a basic social care service in connection with the principle of shared care in a natural home environment for seniors as the ideal form of care for the elderly at present and due to the demographic development in the future. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part covers three main topics: day care service system in the Czech Republic, seniors as a target group of caring and sharing and municipalities and their role in caring for the elderly. The practical part is devoted to the research, which focuses on the relationship of care services and communities from the perspective of potential service users, ie. the elderly. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods is used in the research and interprets the results of the survey conducted among the elderly in three senior clubs in Prague 17. The research complements the findings mentioned in the theoretical part.
