The life and work of Marie Krakešová

My thesis deals with life and work of Marie Krakesova and her influence on Czechoslovakian social work. The first chapter describes basic facts about history of social work and social education, the second chapter talks about personal life of Marie Krakesova concretly studies, her husband Dr Josef Krakes, her family life and the beginnings of professionalisation of social work in the context of time. The third chapter is about significant personalities and theories which inspired Krakesova's work. The fourth chapter deals with specific publications, unique Czechoslovakian theories and methods which Krakesova invented and started to work with them in real life. At the end of my thesis I describe in short how her work interfere in current social work
The profession of social worker from the perspective of senior citizens

This work deals with social work as a profession and its perception by senior citizens. It explains the basic concepts that are important to understanding the problems, describes the history of social work from the 50th years of the 20th century to the present and focuses on the specifics of social work with the elderly. It also deals with ideal characteristics which a social worker should have, it mentions possible areas of his application, classification of workers according to the typology and skills, which acquisition is necessary for good practice. The work also includes quantitative research, which (with use of the snowball method) brings the opinions of senior citizens about social workers and their experiences with them.
