Comparison of fundamental information concepts and its consequences
Valový, Marcel ; Rosický, Antonín (advisor) ; Brixí, Radim (referee)
As for now, there exists no universal theory for understanding information. Therefore, in Information Society the term Information is often led to being misenterpreted and in contrary, things which are not an information are often interpreted as one. In consequences, threats opposed by use of Information technologies cannot be foreseen. This thesis, in its four theoretically oriented chapters, thoroughly describes the nature of information, not only its physical essentiality, but also its applicated state in human mind and societies, and puts it in contrast with that, what is not information. In fifth and ending chapter the thesis addresses consequences that emerge from the information of human into the Information Society and threats of totalitarian substance connected to the concept of Global mind, whose transformation into reality, despite us not recognizing it, has begun.
Man, information and ICT: The developing of information society
Kastner, Pavel ; Rosický, Antonín (advisor) ; Sigmund, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis draws attention to two-way relationship between a man and information which significance is substantially increased with the development of so-called information society. First we define the basic concepts and approaches on this issue and then some issues that arise from the above mentioned relationship will be discussed. We will emphasize particularity of interpretation of information and influence of information on decisions and actions of man and possibilities of its misuse. In the end the attention will be paid to the information society as a whole and to its current and likely future developments. We will use, in the Czech literature rarely mentioned, evolutionary-cybernetic model of society.
Selected consequences of society‘s informatization
Zíma, Stanislav ; Rosický, Antonín (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Antonín (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to describe selected consequences of informatization on the basis of three different views' critical synthesis. First view is an historical perspective focused on medialisation of information and its influence on shaping of man's thinking. On the background of technological progress are shown the milestones in changing of social reality. Another view is to describe the infromation society as a present phenomenon with its general characteristics. The last point of view is based on the hypothesis sof Global brain, which describes mankind as a network of nerve cells, connected to global computer network. Thesis is not intended to be a comprehesive overview of the informatization's consequences but it tries to explain basic issues related to information society.
