Use of GNSS Methods in Mapping Regional Tectonic Structures
Švábenský, Otakar ; Pospíšil, Lubomil
The article is devoted to the analysis and interpretation of geoscientific data in the area around the Rodl-Kaplice-Blanice (RKB) fault system. The RKB system, which has been active since the Proterozoic, appears as a significant interface in geological and geophysical maps. According to the occurrences of earthquake foci, the southern (central) part is also a seismically active zone. DPZ, GNSS, geophysical and geomorphological data were used to assess possible recent activity, with the main output in the form of a recent-kinematic model. The results show that the blocks on opposite sides of the RKB show diametrically different, opposite horizontal movement tendencies, the intensity of which increases towards the system of the South Bohemian Cretaceous-Tertiary basins.
Repeated GPS measurements at polygon Tetčice
Petrlík, Karel ; Švábenský, Otakar (referee) ; Pospíšil, Lubomil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with epoch GNSS measurement by static method at Tetčice polygon. The main purpose is to confirm the geological activity of the Earth's surface on the territory of the village, caused by a tectonic fault. As part of the thesis, the fourth phase of observation was carried out in June 2016 to detect horizontal shifts on four concrete pillars with depth stabilization and forced centering equipment. Results are velocity vector maps obtained by processing the measured data from all the measurement phases that have been performed so far. The thesis also contains the theoretical basis of geological conditions in the area and a description of technology of global navigation satellite systems.
Variscan subduction-related plutonism in the French Massif Central
Usmanova, Diana ; Janoušek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Špillar, Václav (referee)
The French Massif Central belongs to the Moldanubian Zone, which is an internal part of the Variscan Orogen. The Massif was formed during six tectonic-metamorphic events and has a nappe structure. The Muscovite-bearing Peraluminous Granitoids (MPG), Cordierite-bearing Peraluminous Granitoids (CPG), K-rich Calc-alkaline Granitoids (KCG), and Amphibole-bearing Calc-alkaline Granitoids (ACG) types of granitoids were intruded into the nappe units during the Carboniferous. The formation of FMC granitoid plutons was predominantly linked to continental collision; only the ACG plutonites are older, typical of magmatic arcs. These amphibole-bearing calc-alkaline quartz diorites to tonalites are common in the western French Massif Central (Limousin region), where a 250 km long belt known as the "Limousin tonalite belt" is found. Its linear shape and characteristic geochemical composition suggest a subduction-related origin. Newly obtained geochemical data from the Limousin region indicate an intermediate composition (52-57 wt% SiO2), a metaluminous, subalkaline character, and place the samples in the calc-alkaline series. Furthermore, enrichment of Large Ion Lithophile Elements (LILE), depletion of High Field Strength Elements (HFSE), negative europium anomaly (Eu/Eu* = 0,63-0,92) and relatively low initial...
