This bachelor thesis first deals with the history of breeding in Slovakia and Czech. Origin, development and, in short, important personalities.It also describes brewery stations from their history to the present.Later, the work describes the systematic classification of the genus Vitis L., its Euvitis and Muscadinia subdivisions, and Euvitis subdivision into three groups - North American, East Asian, Eurasian. The thesis briefly describes the composition of the fruit of the vines (inflorescence, flower, straw, berry, seed) and fertilization and fruit formation. In the next chapter it deals with soil and climatic conditions of vineyard areas in Slovakia and Czech republic.It also provides information about breeding and its aims, breeding methods, new methods of breeding, mutation, insult and heterosis, polyploidy and clonal selection. In short, the work describes modern methods such as in vitro methods and cellular culti-vation, which include GMO plants. It focuses on resistance that plays a key role in bre-eding.The remaining chapters focus on genofonds in both countries and on their signi-ficant new varieties and their representatives. Grape varieties such as Devin, Dunaj, Hetera, Torysa, Rosa, Malverina, Muškát Moravský, and so on, such as Premier, Olša-va, Pola, are described here.
