Physiology of Plants in Elementary School Botany
Sochorová, Markéta ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor) ; Hrouda, Lubomír (referee)
This thesis on the topic "Physiology of Plants in Elementary School Botany" consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on a didactical analysis of the textbooks currently in use and integration of this topic in the valid curricular documentation. It also includes a research part, in which the possibilities of material visual aids used in science teaching are identified. The practical part makes use of these observations. A interactive CD, which includes worksheets on the main areas of plant physiology, has been created based on these observations. The worksheets are in educational text form, include gap-filling activities, and practical - with appropriate experiments. To these, methodology notes for teacher are supplied. The complete version is on the attached CD. Keywords: plant physiology, textbook didactical analysis, worksheet, experiment suggestions, video-material
LED technology for Lighting Plants
Pospíšil, Tomáš ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Krbal, Michal (advisor)
The aim of the work is to describe the physiology of plants and their needs to the successful evolution and growth. Furthermore to introduce a characteristic light requirement of plants and summarize differences between light requirements of the human eye and plants. More there are shortly mentioned the light quantities and units and by means of these quantities and their units there is assessed the appropriateness of lighting for plants. Another aim is to describe the electric and lighting-technical LED parameters that are suitable for use as a lamp designed for illumination of plants, outline the basic requirements that should the lamp designed for illuminating the plants fulfill. The last part is devoted to the presentation and evaluation of the measurement results of the lamp, which was already developed and used on prototype light source using LED.
Initial study of predisposition of Norway spruce to bark beetle attack in relation to long term effects of multiple stress
KOTRC, Miroslav
This thesis is a contribution to understanding of predisposition of solitary Norway spruce (Picea abies [L.] Karst.) to bark beetle (Ips typographus (L.)) attack. The predisposition is estimated from long term effects of multiple stress, which are determined by tree crown transformation. By virtue of created model, it was documented that some environmental variables could have considerable effect on tree crown transformation. Tree crown transformation is generally considered a mirror of spruce health status.
Educational programme with elements of inquiry based earth science teaching at the 1.st grade primary school
SOUKUPOVÁ, Valerie
The aim of this work is to prepare an educational program with the elements of inquiry teaching (BOV) and at the same time to make sure whether the suggested activities from the point of view of the aims of teaching natural science at the 1 grade of the basic school are effective. This thesis shows some possibilities how to work out with this method and how to incorporate it to the process of teaching. As a purpose - built example there were used topics connected with the physiology of plants. Different teaching methods appropriate for the realization of BOV in the frame of the Educational program with respect to the relevant content of the textbooks of natural science are applied here. The thesis was dealt within the bounds of the project GA JU č. 065/2010/S a GA JU č. 078/2013/S
The influence of water stress on selected grass species and sward botanical composition
PAVELOVÁ, Lenka
The main goal of this thesis is to ascertain the influence of a water stress on regenerative and growth properties of grasses which were exposed to a water deficit and the influence on area composition of certain permanent grass vegetation. Assessment levels were based on container experiments. Each container contained selected class and subclass of a grass with different water regime demands. The aim of these experiments was to determine regenerative and growth abilities of chosen grasses which were exposed to water deficit and their ability to regenerate after drought during the grass branching phase. Another part of these experiments was to assess water regime impact on distribution of grasses in chosen areas. In the Czech Republic, grass vegetation is one of the basic food components for farm animals, mainly cattle, and it is an important landscaping element. It is also a component of forage industry which is a significant part of an agriculture output and the main goal in practice is to provide sufficient production of high quality, biologically valuable and healthy fodder.
