Changes of geochemistry of surface water in selected catchments of the Ore Mountains
Navrátilová, Denisa ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Benešová, Libuše (referee)
This master thesis focuses on an analysis of surface water chemistry, long-term trends and the impact of drought on changes in concentrations of selected parameters in the upper Svatava, Rolava and Načetínský potok basins located in the Ore Mountains. Research on water quality in mountain spring areas is important, the consequences of various changes can be easily observed there. This work analyses the changes in surface water chemistry and discusses their possible causes, especially the impact of peat bogs and dry episodes. The parameters of water temperature, conductivity, pH, BOD5, COD, TOC, concentration of nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, phosphates, sodium, potassium, calcium and iron were investigated for the period 1993-2018. The available data are analysed using evaluation methods according to ČSN 75 7221 as well as box plots, Pearson correlation coefficient, PCA analysis and Mann-Kendall test. The greatest anthropogenic influence exhibited in Svatava, almost all concentrations reached their highest values there. In the Rolava and Načetínský potok basins, the influence of peatlands manifested itself by increasing the concentrations of iron, TOC and COD. The results of trends showed an increase both in pH and in surface water temperature related to an increase in air temperature, on the...
Vliv akvakulturních recirkulačních systému na kvalitu povrchových vod
Mrkvica, Aleš
This diploma thesis deals with recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in terms of their effects on quality of surface water. In the theoretical part, recirculating aquaculture systems, physicochemical parameters of water, eutrophication and fish species that were part of the experiment were described. The methodological part was focused on the detailed description of sampling, parts of the recirculating system, used feed, the origin of reared fish and methods for determination of the individual physicochemical parameters of water and sediment. Samples of water and sediment were collected and analyzed at the Department of Fisheries and Hydrobiology at Mendel University in Brno. In the practical part, the physicochemical parameters were evaluated depending on the number of fish in the system, the daily ration and the type of feed used. It was found that the ammoniacal nitrogen content of the recirculating systems is mainly dependent on the number of fish, the nitrite nitrogen content per daily feed rate, the higher the nitrate content coincides with the minimum water change and the nitrification, the amount of extractable phosphorus in the sediment depends on the type of feed used as well as the total nitrogen content. The smallest impact of phosphorus and nitrogen emissions was demonstrated in the BIOMAR Efico Enviro 920 Advance 4.5 mm feed, which also contained the highest organic content.
Změny kvality vody vybraného toku v obci Kojčice
Koranda, Rudolf
The bachelor thesis focuses on monitoring the changes in water quality of the watercourse flowing through the village of Kojčice during the year. Village does not have a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The samples were taken three times during the vegetative season, at nine localities continuously distributed along the watercourse (mainly at fishponds’ inflow and outflow sites). Samples were analysed in the laboratory of the Department of Fisheries and Hydrobiology at Mendel University in Brno. Total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total iron, dichromate chemical oxygen demand, five-day biochemical oxygen demand, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, acid neutralization capacity, chlorides, calcium and chlorophyll a were determined. Dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, water temperature and water transparency were measured at the sampling site. The aim was to determine the impact of the season, the municipality and adjacent cultivated land on the changes in water quality of the watercourse and subsequently assess the ability of the self-purification process in the watercourse. The quality of water was significantly affected by potato fruit juice inflow from the field. The obtained data were compared with the ČSN 75 7221 standard for surface water quality classification. Furthermore, it was compared with the Government Order No. 401/2015 Coll., to determine whether they meet the requirements for general water use and for salmon and carp waters.
Obsah biogenů (N,P) ve vodě a sedimentu vybraných rybníků
Horák, Filip
The aim of presented diploma thesis was 7-months monitoring of biogenous elements (P, N) in water and its determination in bottom sediments within selected fihsponds assigned by Rybníkářství Pohořelice a.s. Studied fihsponds were Šumický horní, Šumický dolní and Pohořelický. Sampling of water was carried out twice a month from two separate sampling spots, both near the fishpond dam. Basic physicochemical parameters of water were measured in locality, samples for laboratory chemical analysis and plankton analysis were transported to the Department of Fisheries and Hydrobiology for further analysing. The main aim of this project was to account for massive fish kill in summer season in the fishpond Pohořelický dolní on which was Rybníkářství Pohořelice a.s. focused mainly. Realized monitoring showed rapid decrease in dissolved oxygen amount in water which caused mainly the fish kill. Based on this result, decreasing of fish stock intensity and lower fertilization with manure within fishpond management was suggested as suitable. Subsequently, the mud removal of fishpond and use of superphosphate when the level of dissolved oxygen goes below the critical limit was suggested as well.
Monitoring of Osecký and Loučenský streams
Dvořáková, Jana ; Pecharová, Emilie (advisor) ; Martin, Martin (referee)
The monitoring of Osecký and Loučenský stream (Podkrušnohoří) took place in 2015 and 2016. The data about aquatic environment were completed including physico chemical parameters in identified profiles: pH, the water temperature, conductivity, the concentration of dissolved oxygen, dissolved solids and species composition of macrozoobentos. Based on the results the water quality of both streams corresponds to beta mesosaprobity to slight alfa mesosaprobity. According to assumption the Osecký stream had lower species diversity due to construction work in the stream which do not support high species diversity. There is also an influence of stream pollution and low water surface too. Increased index saprobity but low values of diversity index confirmed that the water quality is also affected by pollution from organic allotments. The results of this study will be taken as a basis MU Duchcov and the Czech Fisheries Association for precaution to improve water quality and optimize the use of these waters for fishery management.
Hydrobiological monitoring of Duchcov selected ponds.
Typoltová, Tereza ; Pecharová, Emilie (advisor) ; Martin, Martin (referee)
Since the year 2013 there is going a hydrobiology monitoring of some selected ponds in Duchcov. It is Rybochovný n. 1, Rybochovný n. 2, Rybochovný n. 3, Kravský, Růžový, Dubský and Barbora onces, when all ponds were for some time monitored in basic hydrochemical parameters: temperature, alkalinity, conductivity, oxidation reduction potential, dissolved oxygen concentration in water, transparency and turbidity. I examined seasonal change in phytoplankton and zooplankton composition. I compared my results with data from previous years. In these ponds is a risk of eutrophication, resulting in the occurrence of algal blooms. Several situations with the occurrence of algal bloom was observed during monitoring. This would may be problem for ecological conditions of pond´s reservoirs, also for fish composition because of oxygen out-pumping. There weren´t noticed extreme changes during pH monitoring, even so it is important to monitor the supply of nutrients and in case of deflection to make various steps.
Dlouhodobé změny fyzikálně-chemických parametrů rybníků v závislosti na způsobu hospodaření
Mrkvica, Aleš
Aim of this bachelor thesis is to create review about long term changes in physical-chemical parameters of the ponds according to their farming usage. In the theoretical part you can find description of these main pointers : oxygen, phosphorus, nitrogen, pH, BSK, CHSK and organoleptic properties. After this the ponds are divided and described according to their trophy and eutrophication. In the part about material and methods there are listed and described individual sampling sites and sampling methods. In the practical part there are results of monitored ponds in diagrams. Data were collected during few last years by department of fishery and hydrobiology in the southern Moravia. Results were then compared with standard of environmental quality of surface water.
A comparison of the extent of game fish damage and mortality during their storage alive in a standard keep-net and special bag {--}`tunnel{\crq}
STRAPINA, Josef
