This diploma thesis called "Perception of the role of greenery in urban areas" deals in the introductory part with climate change and adaptation measures to mitigate its impact. In the next part, he moves on to the role and function of greenery in this process, focusing on the specifics of cities, especially in connection with the mani-festation of the urban heat island. Its aim is to find out, in the form of a questionnaire survey, the attitude of residents and visitors to the city of České Budějovice to climate change, the state of the living and natural environment in the city, their relationship to urban greenery and identify what they perceive as insufficient or unpleasant in this area. Based on the statistical evaluation of the survey, recommendations for local self-government are formulated in the conclusion.
The proposal for planting of scattered greenery as part of complex land adjustment

This thesis is dealing with issues of green vegetation outside forest, in chosen cadastral zoning territory, where complex land adjustment was done. The thesis is focused especially on its significance and function in landscape and also on its position. A goal of this thesis is to map this green vegetation and to create a proposal of new planting. The thesis also contains a description of interest territory, a current state of scattered green vegetation, an evaluation of main problems and an appraisal their solutions in cadastral zoning territory in Hodětín.
Perception of the role of green in different sizes of municipalities

This diploma thesis called "Perception of the role of green in different sizes of municipalities" focuses on different kinds and types of green in towns, villages and in the open countryside. In the introductory part the thesis defines the term green and describes its basic functions and characteristics, which improve the environment and have positive effect on human´s health. In the next chapters the thesis describes the role of green in urban areas of different sizes and reflects how people perceive green vegetation and how green affects their feelings when they are in different areas. The aim of the thesis is to map and make an inventory of types and the amount of green in villages Hůrky and Lišov. In addition to mapping, other data was collected via questionnaires and all data was subsequently analysed. The closing part evaluates outcomes of the research.

This bachelor thesis deals with the problems concerned with public green, it is impact on humans and its importance in the urban area. It describes the basic function of green in the urban area including less discussed negative effects on human health and the function of biota. Further, the thesis focuses on the changes of climate and their impact on the society and human health. Marginally, it describes the sustainability of cities and gives examples of green towns in the Czech Republic, in Europe and all over the world. The result of the thesis is the evaluation of the state of 5 selected green areas in Brno and suggestion of relevant measures and recommendation for each area. All areas were evaluated according to the rating chart and based on the field research. All aspects that everyone considers as important in the locations (e. g. enough green, safety, equipment, etc.) were included as evaluation criteria. Some recommendations are presented by visualizations.
Green spaces in the city, their evolution and transformation on the example of Prague in 19th and 20th century

Green space is an essential part of the city urbanism. Research dedicated to development of the greenery and emergence of the first public parks contributes substantially to the understanding of urban issues and urban history. Green space has an aesthetic function, but is also a socially stratified space. Every city has its own unique greenery. It is not different in the case of Prague, whose dominant - Prague Castle creates unique linking of urban and green with Petřín and Malá Strana. The thesis "Green spaces in the city, their development and transformation on the example of Prague in the 19th and 20th century" aims to bring the historical development of Prague's greenery, especially the creation of public green space and point out the fact that people commonly accepted phenomenon of public parks was not always a matter of course. Development of green space, the struggle for its development and rescue, employed clubs, societies and individuals and has become one of the priorities for urban policy. Mainly the contemporary guides were used as a source for this work and for describing the emergence of the first public parks in the 19th century and the transformation of types of urban green areas. The Benefits of Green Spaces

This diploma thesis with the theme of The benefits of green spaces deals with the benefits of green space and their value. The main part of the thesis is a literary review summarizing the theme of the benefits of green space and the methods of their evaluation. The first part of the review focuses mainly on the identification of the functions of green spaces in an urban environment and a closer look at their effects, utility and functioning. In this section the effects of the phenomena that occur in urban environments and which are suppressed thanks to green spaces are also analyzed. The second part of the review is devoted to the importance of evaluating green spaces and their benefits and further to methodologies, which are discussed in detail. The following section analyzes the evaluation methodologies and their positive and critical points are identified. This section also divides the methodologies according to their relevance in the Czech environment, which is specific and the methodologies developed in the Anglo-Saxon context cannot be applied without modification. This chapter also compares data sources needed to develop a methodology for evaluating the benefits of green spaces. In the fifth chapter of the thesis, a methodology for calculating the economic value of the benefits of green spaces in the city is created, based on the knowledge gained in the literature review. The methodology combines methods from various sources and adjusts them to the Czech context. It also examines the data sources needed in order to set up the whole balance sheet. The sixth part deals with the discussion, in which is the summary of the data, which arise from the assembled methodology and compares them with the literature and the application of similar methodologies in other territories. The conclusion summarizes the information obtained in the research and suggests other possibilities of their future use.
