The Master thesis Specifics of the tabloid Neue Kronen Zeitung and its position in the Austrian media market. Comparison of the most read Austrian and Czech daily newspapers tries to analyse the unusually strong position of the Austrian tabloid daily Neue Kronen Zeitung in the Austrian print media market and at the same time attempts to compare the Neue Kronen Zeitung with the Czech tabloid daily newspaper Blesk in detail. The first part of the thesis is mainly devoted to the daily newspaper Neue Kronen Zeitung, to its history and to the characteristics of the Austrian print media market. The theoretical part defines the most important aspects of the tabloid press. With regard to these aspects the Neue Kronen Zeitung is thoroughly analysed in the following part of the thesis, especially in terms of its layout, content, language, form and the way it addresses its readers. In conclusion, a comparison of the Austrian most read daily newspaper Neue Kronen Zeitung and the Czech most read daily newspaper Blesk is carried out. The cornerstone of the comparison is the realization of a content analysis which focuses on the political and foreign coverage of both newspapers. Display of a selected region, town or country in an agency press service presented on case of Great Britain

Bachelor thesis called Display of a selected region, town or country in an agency press service presented on case of Great Britain deals with foreign coverage of the Czech News Agency concerning Great Britain which was published in a first term of the year 2011. Thesis is focused on written news only (not on photographies, audio or video), it is not focused on economic news and sport news. It brings information about news agencies in general and about the Czech News Agency, particularly about its foreign coverage. It is dedicated to area studies of Great Britain and consequently to bilateral relations among this country and Czechoslovakia, later the Czech Republic. Numbers of published news are filed into tables according to their categories, priorities and sources. Next step is to deal with an analysis of news published in the given period. It looks for differences among the news written by the foreign correspondent of the Czech News Agency working in London and those written by foreign redaction in Prague. The bachelor thesis searches signs which are typical for these two ways of publishing news from abroad, compares sources and topics of the news and attends to a representation of bohemics and slovenics in the coverage.
