New trends in water treatment
Zdražilová, Alena ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Biela, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is divided into to two parts. The first part contains an overview of new trends in water treatment. The second part shows examples of use of some mentioned type of new technologies, which can be found in practice, that is on water treatment plants.
Microplastics removing from water
Ermis, Martin ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the occurrence of microplastics in water, the reasons for their potential elimination, and the possibilities leading to that. More specifically, it focuses on flotation as a process for removing microplastics from water. Flotation is further described from a theoretical point of view and its mathematical model is developed. The wettability of selected polymers is measured. The experiment performed to determine the efficiency of flotation as a process of treating water from microplastics is described. This efficiency is further compared to measured wettability.
Operational and Technical Condition of Separation Equipment in Water Treatment Plants
Pešout, Jakub ; Roh, Robert (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to determine the operational and technical parameters of the separation objects in water treatment. The first part is a theoretical and provides basic information on this issue. The second part contains the evaluation criteria created by the obtained information for individual objects and gained in practice by personal visits of selected treatment plants of water. In the last part we can find application of these criteria in water treatment in practice. There is also included the final evaluation of the researched condition.
Use of recycling membrane technology for industrial waters
Vykydalová, Adéla ; Mergl, Václav (referee) ; Repková, Martina (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the recycling technology of industrial wastewater – more precisely, the laundry industry. The semi-operational pilot unit of ASIO TECH was used for testing this technology. The unit includes membrane processes – ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and flotation process. There were 8 physico-chemical parameters selected for assesing the quality of wastewater and treated water. The tested semi-operational unit is suitable for cleaning laundry wastewater. The purified water can be used in the next washing process or for the water source for the steam generator.
Coagulation optimization of the wastewater effluent at the Podlázky, Kvasiny and Solnice wastewater treatment plants
Pivokonský, Martin ; Čermáková, Lenka ; Prokopová, Michaela ; Pivokonská, Lenka
The presented report deals with the characterization and optimization of coagulation of wastewater effluent from three wastewater treatment plants – Podlázky WWTP, Kvasiny WWTP and Solnice WWTP, which are to serve as a source of raw water for process water production for Škoda auto, as. The report is designed as a basis for implementation of pilot tests and subsequent design of the technological line of the planned water treatment plant, where coagulation and subsequent separation of the suspension by flotation is planned as the first stage of water treatment.

Separation of microplastics from sewage sludge using heavy liquids
Pospíchalová, Eliška ; Innemanová, Petra (advisor) ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on microplastics in sewage sludge. Microplastics are currently often discussed topic, but their occurrence in sewage sludge isn't still sufficiently researched. The main source of microplastics in sewage sludge is waste water. Microplastics are accumulating in sewage sludge during wastewater treatment and enter terrestrial ecosystems with multiple times higher concentration in comparison to freshwaters as a result of their use in agriculture or in restoration. In the year of 2017 sewage sludge was in Czech Republic further processed by direct land application within agriculture and restoration of 42 %, compostation of 34 %, other uses of 14 %, landfilling of 7 % and incineration of 3 %. The use of sewage sludge in agriculture demonstrates significance of microplastics issue. The tested samples were sampled from five anonymous wastewater treatment plants in Czech Republic. The samples were investigated for applicability of methodology of separation microplastics with oxidation of natural organic matter by Fe2+ + 30 % H2O2 and flotation in saline solution of 5 M NaCl. Following identification of microplastics was carried out in optical microscope with magnification of 40x. For precise optical detection of microplastics the samples were dyed with rose bengal. The...
Střevní paraziti ze středověké lokality v Praze
ŘÍHOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of this thesis was to examine the archeological material from medieval site in Prague and identify human or animal intestinal parasite eggs or cysts. The concetration methods were used for parasite identification and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used for detection of parasitic protist DNA. In comparision with the results of most of similar research, the occurrence of parasites was low.
The use of a dissolved air flotation for tertiary stage of wastewater treatment
Čmaradová, Miroslava ; Chládková, Helena (referee) ; Houdková, Lucie (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the area of wastewater treatment. There is a solution possibility of using flotation for the removal of phosphorus precipitates formed during the tertiary treatment of wastewater. The first part is devoted to a general description of wastewater treatment, there is also described as a flotation separation technology and precipitation of phosphorus. The second part is practically oriented. It describes the experimental equipment used for the precipitation of phosphorus and subsequent removal of the precipitate flotation, during the experiment and the results obtained.
