Overview of Actual Approaches to Optimization
Hudecová, Patrícia ; Šůstek, Martin (referee) ; Zbořil, František (advisor)
This work aimed to study some of the optimization algorithms inspired by nature and to test their success in finding the extreme of a function on various functions. Four algorithms were selected, namely the bat algorithm, the firefly algorithm, the flower pollination algorithm, and the black hole algorithm. The Griewank function, the Rastringin function, and the Rosenbrock function were chosen as test functions for finding the extreme of the function. The work contains a description of individual algorithms, a description of test functions and a description of the experiments, and an evaluation of the success of the algorithms.
Genetic Algorithms
Masárová, Mária ; Zbořil, František (referee) ; Zbořil, František (advisor)
This thesis deals with genetic algorithm, their terminology and use. It describes various problems that can be solved by using genetic algorithms. Different algorithms of swarm intelligence are also presented in this thesis, while firefly algorithm also serves to compare the efficiency between it and genetic algorithm. The main task of this thesis is to perform experiments with three optimization tasks, namely, travelling salesman problem, boolean satisfiability problem and searching for extreme in function.
Parallel optimization methods
Marcina, Tomáš ; Kozovský, Matúš (referee) ; Kozubík, Michal (advisor)
The work is concerned on the comparison of different algorithms designed for the optimization of multidimensional functions. Specifically, it deals with population optimization methods, which are generally suitable for parallelizing the calculation of the optimal function value. The functions are implemented in program Matlab and on the NVIDIA CUDA platform. It compares several different algorithms suitable for this. At the end, the advantages and disadvantages of individual algorithms are summarized.
