Security system using optical sensing systems
Šišolák, Filip ; Tomašov, Adrián (referee) ; Dejdar, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of distributed sensing using optical fibers and its implementation within object security. The theoretical analysis extensively describes the principles of operation and potential applications of the most commonly used optical fiber sensors based on interferometry, diffraction structures, and scattering measurements. The theoretical part also includes an overview of the current state of optical sensor systems in the context of object security. For the practical part, the architecture of the fiber sensor is selected using theoretical knowledge and testing measurements. The description of the hardware and software architecture of the developed security device outlines its functionality. The conclusion of the practical part focuses on testing this device and comparing it with commercial electronic systems in terms of cost.
Vláknové mřížky pro zvýšení stability polovodičových laserů
Mikel, Břetislav ; Číp, Ondřej
The industrial production of Vertical Cavity Surface Emittíng Laser (VCSEL) diodes started several years ago. They have a wide range of applications in laser interferometry and spectroscopy. At present VCSELs become very attractive in optical communications in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems. The influence of the external optical feedback on spectral characteristics of VCSELs has been studied. At present the most interesting solution of this external feedback is to use an external fiber with fíber grating. Thanks to advances in technology of fabrication of fiber gratings they can be used as the external cavity for edge emitting laser diodes and as well as for VCSELs. Study of linewidth improvement, frequency stability, and mechanical stability are growing in importance in connection with fiber gratings
