Occurrence and Prevention of Asthma in Youth Division Cross-country Skiers
Toman, Lukáš ; Gnad, Tomáš (advisor) ; Matošková, Petra (referee)
Title: Occurrence and Prevention of Asthma in Youth Division Cross-country Skiers Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine the incidence of asthma in youth division cross-country skiers and its prevention. Methods: This thesis will comprise the method of survey and content analysis of documents. Hypotheses: No.1 Assume that asthma will have lower prevalence in youth division cross- country skiers than in adult cross-country skiers. No.2 Assume that the majority of the surveyed cross-country skiing coaches met with asthmatic symptoms in their athletes. Results: We found that 12% of youth division athletes suffer from asthma and 24% from allergies. Keywords: cross country skiing, respiratory diseases, bronchial asthma, exercise-induced asthma, allergy prevention.
The influence of exercise applied by bicycle ergometer on spirometric data measured on-line during exercise. Detection of exercise induced bronchoconstriction and dynamic hyperinflation
Šmolka, Jiří ; Šulc, Jan (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
Bachelor Thesis "Influence of exercise on spirometric data measured on-line during exercise. Detection of exercise - induced asthma and dynamic hyperinflation" sumarizes knowledge about genesis, detection and prevalence of exercise-induced asthma. It further deals with the occurance of dynamic hyperinflation and its effect on lung mechanics. Practical part sets forward oportunity of observing an alteration in spirometric data and dynamic lung volumes during exercise and after its cessation in order to detect dynamic hyperinflation and exercise - induced asthma by showing practicle examples. It shows an alternative approach to exercise bronchial challenge testing. It further discusses the diference between reaction of spirometric data of non-asthmatic subjekt and asthmatic subjekt. The conclusion of this work is that the change in spirometric data, provided by modified bronchial exercise challenge, differs between asthmatic and non-asthmatic subject. The appearance of respiratory disease in cross country skiing
Toman, Lukáš ; Gnad, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jindra, Matouš (referee)
Title: The appearance of respiratory disease in cross country skiing Objectives: Aim of bachelor's thesis is to determine the incidence of respiratory disease in cross country skiers and approach the problem of asthma and its occurrence in cross-country skiers. Another goal is to find treatment in elite cross-country skiers and influence of respiratory disease on the performance of cross-country skiers. Methods: In the thesis was used method to survey and content analysis of documents. Results: We found that eight of the nineteen representatives of the Czech Republic has problems with respiratory illnesses, of which has seven representatives of the Czech Republic asthma, which is 34%. Key words: Cross-country skiing, respiratory diseases, bronchial asthma, exercise- induced asthma, allergies.
