Weather lore and sayings in practice of nursery school and their use in creative activities.

My bachelor's thesis pursues the meaning of folk sayings and proverbs, their interconnection with nature, peoples' lives, human wisdom and basic moral values. The theoretical part is aimed at historic origin, evolution and message of folk sayings and proverbs. It points out their contribution to the present as a cultural legacy of our ancestors. It also deals with general principles of development of creativity, esthetic perception and drama education during pre-school period. The practical part features concrete groups of activities with children and reflection of their realization in practice of a kindergarten. The groups are motivated by folk's sayings and proverbs with the focus on comprehension and development of artistic and dramatic creativity of children. The goal of the thesis is to emphasize significance of folk's sayings and proverbs as an important part of the Czech culture and tradition, to show possibilities of their application and realization during creative activities in kindergartens during the whole year.
The function of beauty in pre-school education.

My bachelor's thesis entitled "The function of beauty in pre-school education" deals with esthetic perception of the world in pre-school education with emphasis on the function of beauty and how it acts on the child. The theoretical portion defines terms relating to esthetic education, such as beauty, esthetics, art, and kitch. The thesis also deals with the history of esthetic thought, the specific ways in which pre-school children perceive, and possibilities for teaching esthetics in contemporary pre-school education. The practical section of the thesis describes the "Our Tree" project, which is focused on the development of perception and creative expression skills. The project consisted of the following sections: "Beauty of Autumn", "Beauty of Winter", and "Beauty of Spring". Upon completion, the project was evaluated. The objective was to determine whether children are capable of judging beauty. The thesis concludes with statements by pre-school teachers.
